The long read

Who they say they are, and what the record says

Dozo is a hemp brand from Southern California that sells in smoke shops, vape stores and gas stations. Its tablets come in foil cards printed with a leaf wreath and the word PERKS. The brand's website, puredozo.com, was registered through GoDaddy on 2019-12-14 with the owner withheld.[1] Its first archived storefront, from January 2021, sold CBD under the line “just like nature intended”, and said that Dozo's “full spectrum cbd oils are products of highly controlled hemp farmed in usa”.[2]

The Dozo home page in January 2021: a green dozo logo with a leaf in the o, a banner reading Just Like Nature Intended over teal and white boxes of CBD oil, CBD soft gel capsules and CBD vape cartridges.
Figure 1. puredozo.com on 2021-01-17. Dozo began as a CBD brand: oils, capsules and hemp flower. [2]

The products changed with the market. By October 2022 the site sold “delta 8 delta 10 disposables vape cartridges vegan gummies” and listed a contact line, “contact 1 800 748 6916 info latrolabs com”.[3] By July 2023 it was a Shopify store whose footer read “copyright 2023 dozotrips all rights reserved”.[4] Its About page said “our hemp cbd products are legal in all 50 states”.[5] Perks, the 7-OH tablets, arrived in September 2024.[6] The archive's index of the site runs from 2021 to 2026.[7]

A vertical timeline from December 2019 to October 2026: the domain registered; a CBD shop; Delta-8 products; a Shopify store signed Dozo Trips; the first Perks certificate; the trademark filing; Perks 7-OH tablets; TestMyKratom results; Perks Pseudoindoxyl; the FDA warning letter; the class action; the Limitless rumour; 100 mg bottles and kratom extract tablets; MG-X; the trademark abandoned; the DEA order; the MG-X certificate claims; ZVX LLC; the 7-OH order.
Figure 2. The record in order. The brand moved from CBD to Delta-8 to mushroom products to 7-OH, and in 2026 to tablets sold as mitragynine. [7]

The company behind it. Three public records name a company. The trademark application for DOZO PERKS, an “application filing date aug 29 2024”, was filed by Latro Inc., a California corporation with an address in Corona, for “dietary and nutritional supplements herbal supplements” and apparel. It claimed “first use sep 18 2023” and describes a logo in which “the mark consists of the word dozo above the word perks” between leaves. The application was “abandoned because the applicant failed to respond or filed a late response to an office action”, on 2026-06-15.[8] The FDA addressed its 2025 warning letter to Latro Inc. in Corona, at the brand's support address.[9] And a consumer class action filed in April 2025 is captioned “h s et al v latro inc d b a dozo perks 25 cv 999 c d cal april 2025”.[10]

By September 2026 the site named someone else. Its contact page reads “zvx llc dba puredozo business address 848 n rainbow blvd 2037 las vegas nv 89107”.[11] The terms of service, “updated last september 10 2026”, say “your credit or debit card statement will show the billing descriptor zvx llc”, and that they are “governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of texas”.[12] The footer of the home page now reads “copy 2026 zvx llc dba puredozo”.[13] The site sits behind an age check that says “you must be 21 or older to visit this website”.[11]

The puredozo contact information page in September 2026: ZVX LLC dba puredozo, business address 848 N Rainbow Blvd #2037, Las Vegas, NV, customer service phone and support email.
Figure 3. The operator named on the site in September 2026: ZVX LLC of Las Vegas, a different company from the one the FDA wrote to. [11]
So the record has a California corporation on the trademark, the warning letter and the lawsuit, and a Nevada company on the storefront, under a Texas law clause. What connects Latro Inc. and ZVX LLC, the documents we read do not say.

The brand's laboratory certificates add one more name. Each names the laboratory's client: Latro Inc. in 2024, then in February 2025 a company that appears nowhere else in the record, “tested for nectris”, and from May 2025 the brand names themselves (see Lab results).[14] We found nothing else about Nectris.

What they sell

Hemp and THC, 2021 to now. Dozo's longest-running products are cannabinoids: CBD at first, then Delta-8 THC and THCA vapes, gummies, prerolls and flower. A buyer asked in 2024 whether Dozo was a real brand, because “they sell thca carts which when smoked turn into d9”.[15] The FDA's letter concerns one of these, a Delta-8 gummy (see Regulatory and legal).[9] A mushroom line, Don't Trip, sells THCA hemp with a mushroom extract the packaging does not identify. A reviewer called a Don't Trip preroll “a 2018 farm bill compliant hemp thca preroll claiming to have added amanita” and concluded “it is mostly just a weed high”.[16] Amanita's active compound is muscimol; no Don't Trip label we saw names it.

Figure 4. Don't Trip, the brand's mushroom line, April 2025: THCA hemp prerolls sold with a mushroom extract that the label does not name. [16]

Perks 7-OH tablets, from September 2024. The first Perks listing sold “7 hydroxymitragynine alkaloid kratom extract tablets 40 mg per pack 20 mg per tablet”, in a Mellow Blend and a Party Blend. It called them “best hitting kratom pills on the market”, promised buyers would “feel the absolute euphoria”, and ran a heading that read “kill your pain in 7 min”.[6] 7-OH is an opioid made from the kratom alkaloid mitragynine. The first buyer review on Reddit, on 2024-09-02, began with the name: “i absolutely hate the name they chose for this product”. The same buyer “was a little concerned when i looked and saw caffeine as an ingredient”.[17] A 2025 buyer read the 50 mg Euphoria Blend label as “4 servings per tab 12 5 mg 7oh 5mg mit 10mg caffeine”.[18]

The Dozo PERKS 7-Hydroxymitragynine product page in September 2024: two blister cards, a blue Chill Berry Mellow Blend and a yellow Wild Mango Party Blend, each with two scored tablets, under the words Rapid Release Formula, Kratom Alkaloids, 40 mg per pack, 20 mg per tablet; beside them the price and offer buttons for two and three packs.
Figure 5. The first Perks listing, 2024-09-14: two 20 mg tablets of 7-OH to a pack, in a Mellow Blend and a Party Blend. [6]

Pseudoindoxyl followed in December 2024: “pseudoindoxyl alkaloid kratom extract tablets 60 mg per pack 20 mg per tablet”, sold under the line “7x stronger than 7 oh”, as “a new generation of chewable kratom tablets”, in the words “introducing dozo perks pseudoindoxyl a new generation of chewable kratom tablets”.[19] Mitragynine pseudoindoxyl is another opioid derived from mitragynine. Liquid shots came in both: “pseudoindoxyl botanical alkaloid extract shot 40 mg per bottle 10 mg per serving”, and “dozo liquid perks 7 hydroxymitragynine wild mango”.[20]

The marketing went further in email. A buyer posted one in April 2025 that sold the 200 mg pack by the fraction of a tablet, from a quarter (“feel-good buzz”) to a whole one (“reality melts”), beside a table comparing Perks with “the average 7-OH market”. The buyer's verdict: “this is just trash marketing and makes the entire 7oh industry look like a joke”.[21]

A marketing email for Perks, 200 mg a pack: a quarter tablet is just a taste; half a tablet, stress gone, mood euphoric as hell; three quarters, feels illegal (but it's not); one full tablet, reality melts, full-body euphoria, ride it or get swallowed. Below, a table comparing Perks with the average 7-OH market: 15 minutes, no nausea, 50mg 7-oh heavy hitter, against 1-2g leaf.
Figure 6. A Perks marketing email posted by a buyer, April 2025. The dosing chart sells euphoria by the quarter tablet. [21]

Doses rose. A 4-count 50 mg card was on the site by March 2025, “7 hydroxymitragynine alkaloid botanical extract tablets 200 mg per pack 50 mg per tablet 4 count”.[22] A 35 mg single reached a vape store in October 2025; the worker who photographed it wrote “i work at a vape store and we got these new 35 mg dozo perks in”.[23] By 2026 the brand sold 100 mg tablets four to a card, under “caution 400 mg of 7 oh” and “this is a strong product not for beginners”, with an ingredient list that begins “ingredients 7 hydroxymitragynine 100mg per tablet”.[24] A ten-tablet bottle of the same strength was sold as “ultra concentrated fast acting tablets built for experienced users”.[25] Retailers carry the range: the web shop Kures showed “dozo perks 28” in its brand filter in October 2026.[26]

MG-X and Kratom Extracts, 2026. As states banned 7-OH, Dozo added tablets sold as mitragynine. MG-X, 125 mg a tablet, is a “high mitragynine extract crafted to boost focus energy and daily performance”, with a “standardized mitragynine profile”. Its bundle buttons read “7oh alternative” and “7x potent”, and its page says the tablet is gentler “because mg x is mitragynine dominant and not 7 oh heavy”.[28] Perks Kratom Extracts, 250 mg a tablet, is a “premium kratom extract engineered for sharp focus and sustained energy”.[29] Buyers found MG-X on sale where 7-OH was gone: one photographed it “just seen these at a vape shop in a place where 7 is banned”.[30] Another noticed that the Kratom Extracts card read “the contents basically read like the mgx just doubled”.[31] What buyers say MG-X contains is under Allegations.

The name. Perks is a homophone of Percs, the street name for Percocet tablets, and buyers raise it unprompted. One bought them in March 2025 “at some random smoke shop”, took one, and wrote “i feel so slow and sluggish and weak”.[33] Another took a whole 50 mg tablet: “i read the instructions it said take a quarter of tablet”, and “i felt like i was going to die”.[34]

Strength. The most common complaint is that the tablets are weak. “they say on the package that they are 50 mg but there is no way they are”, one buyer wrote in August 2025.[35] In January 2026: “we all know that dozo is underdosed but geez”.[36] On the 100 mg tablets, a reader wrote “even the 100 mg ones test out to be 80 mg”.[37] Some buyers think the reverse. One who scanned a pseudoindoxyl card in February 2026 found that “they actually have labs on these and if im reading it correctly they are dosed accurately”.[38] Opia buyers and Dozo buyers overlap: “looking for an online plug for dozo or opia”, one asked in 2024,[39] and in 2025 another, who “had been using the 4 pack 100mg perks”, “recently tried the 240mg opia packs” and preferred them. We found no business tie between the two brands.[40]

Quality. In January 2025 a buyer complained that two tablets they “freaking crumbled when i pressed the foil package”.[41] In August 2026 another posted a photograph headed “these dozo pseudo tabs look so dirty”.[42] A buyer of the pseudoindoxyl tablets realised, in May 2026, that “this dozo perk is only pseudoindoxyl”, having thought it held 7-OH as well.[43]

Harm. One buyer in May 2025 wrote that after taking Perks “i start hearing random loud voices”, with visual effects, eight hours on; a reader replied “i hate to admit it but have taken tons of these and never had a single issue”.[44] The dependence posts are the ones with numbers. In r/QuittingKratom, a man tapering off kratom tried a Party Blend: “i took one step ahead just to take 1000 steps backwards”.[45] In r/opiates in December 2025: “i take 5 8 dozo perks mellow blend for pain every day”.[46] In r/SR17018 in July 2026, a ten-year kratom leaf user who tried pseudoindoxyl at a smoke shop was “now at about 800mg a day dozo perks 7oxie straight heat”.[47] The vape-store worker who asked whether 35 mg Perks would help his back pain on Suboxone was told by a reader, “i take subs to get off kratom as do a whole lot of the rest of us on this sub”.[23]

Lab results

What the brand publishes. Dozo posts certificates for its Perks packs. In May 2025 its lab page listed “lab reports 1ct perks 2ct perks 3ct perks 4ct perks 6ct perks liquid perks”.[48] Its FAQ said “every batch is third party lab tested”.[49] The certificates are from PharmLabs San Diego, an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory. They test four kratom alkaloids by HPLC, and from February 2026 a fifth, MGM-15.[50][51]

What its own certificates show. The 2024 certificates, for the 20 mg tablets, found less 7-OH than the label in every pack we read. The client on them is Latro Inc.: “tested for latro inc”. For the “sample dozo perks 6ct wild mango”, six tablets and 120 mg by the label, the 7-OH row reads “7 hydroxy mitragynine 7hmg 0 008 0 025 1 48 14 79 5 62 67 00”, which is 67.00 mg in the pack, 56 per cent of the label.[50] A two-tablet Chill Berry pack from July 2024, 40 mg by the label, reads “7 hydroxy mitragynine 7hmg 0 008 0 025 2 20 22 01 15 19 30 47”: 15.19 mg a tablet, 30.47 mg in the pack.[52] Across the eight 2024 packs on the page we read, the results run from 56 to 90 per cent of the label.

A PharmLabs San Diego certificate of analysis for Dozo Perks 6CT Wild Mango, tested for Latro inc, received October 15, 2024, twelve servings: 7-hydroxy mitragynine 5.62 mg per serving and 67.00 mg per unit, mitragynine 2.58 mg per unit, with a photograph of a yellow six-tablet Perks card.

From 2025 the certificates come closer. The “sample dozo perks strawberry banana 35mg 7oh 1 count” of May 2025 reads “7 hydroxy mitragynine 7hmg 0 008 0 025 4 29 42 94 32 20 32 20”, 32.20 mg against 35.[53] The “sample pink lemonade 50mg 7oh dozoperks 4ct”, its client now given as “tested for dozo perks”, reads “7 hydroxy mitragynine 7hmg 0 008 0 025 7 72 77 24 57 93 231 72”: 231.72 mg in a card of 200, 116 per cent.[54] A “sample dozo 100mg 7oh 10ct jar blue razz” of February 2026 reads “7 hydroxy mitragynine 7hmg 0 008 0 025 14 50 144 98 108 74”, 108.74 mg a tablet.[55] The certificate for the 250 mg Kratom Extracts tablets, “tested for dozo”, has a row for MGM-15 that reads “mgm 15 mgm 0 186 0 562 nd nd nd nd”, not detected, and a mitragynine row that reads “mitragynine mitg 0 018 0 054 29 01 290 12 217 59 1087 95”, about 218 mg a tablet. It also finds about 27 mg a tablet of speciociliatine, another kratom alkaloid.[51]

A PharmLabs San Diego certificate of analysis for Dozo 250mg Kratom 5ct Grape, tested for Dozo, received February 12, 2026: 7-hydroxy mitragynine not detected, MGM-15 not detected, mitragynine 217.59 mg per serving and 1,087.95 mg per unit, speciociliatine 27.13 mg per serving and 135.64 mg per unit, with a photograph of the Perks Kratom Extracts card.

A community tester. TestMyKratom, which buys products, sends them to a laboratory and posts the results, tested Perks five times in 2024. It earns from affiliate links: “buying from our affiliate links helps us fund more tests”.[56] The Chill Berry tablets were the worst: “dozo perks chill berry tablets contained 7 25mg of 7 hydroxy which was about 64 weaker than its 20mg claim”, an F, after an earlier batch at “12 2mg of 7 hydroxy which was 39 weaker than its 20mg claim”.[56] The best was Raw Gold: “dozo perks raw gold tablets contained 15 64mg of 7 hydroxy which was about 22 weaker than its 20mg claim”.[56] Wild Mango “contained 14 4mg of 7 hydroxy which was 28 weaker than its 20mg claim”.[56] When the November results were posted to Reddit, a reader wrote that “they under dose tabs sometimes by over half”.[57]

The TestMyKratom brand page for Dozo Perks, archived February 2025: links to four tested tablets, and the Chill Berry 7-OH tablet with a latest grade of F: 7.25 mg against a 20 mg claim, 36 per cent, in November 2024, and 12.2 mg, 61 per cent, in September 2024.
Figure 14. A community tester's results, 2025-02-25. Five tests of the 20 mg tablets in 2024, from 36 to 78 per cent of the label. [56]

The two sources agree in direction for 2024. The brand's own certificate for a Chill Berry pair in July 2024 works out at about 15 mg a tablet; the tester's two Chill Berry batches that autumn were 12.2 and 7.25 mg.[52][56] We found no independent test of a 2025 or 2026 Perks product, and none of MG-X.

This site's lab-results section holds no test of a Dozo product.

Regulatory and legal

The FDA. On 2025-03-25 the FDA's Human Foods Program sent Latro Inc. a warning letter. The agency “reviewed your website at puredozo com in may and december 2024 and again in january 2025”, and found that “your dozo d9 smashers peach mango delta 8 product” is an adulterated food. “fda confirmed through laboratory analysis that a sample of this product contains delta 8 thc.” The letter says the FDA had received adverse event reports for Delta-8 products, “including for your product specifically”, and adds “we note that your firm sells food products that contain cannabinoids other than delta 8 thc”.[9] The letter does not mention 7-OH, though the site sold Perks at the time it was reviewed.[6] A search of the FDA site for the brand and the company found no other letter.[58]

Figure 15. The FDA's warning letter to Latro Inc., 2025-03-25, sent to the brand's support address. It concerns a Delta-8 gummy, not the 7-OH tablets. The recipient's name and street are hidden. [9]

The class action. In April 2025 a plaintiff identified as H.S. sued Latro Inc. in the Central District of California, for “failing to disclose that products contain an addictive ingredient 7 hydroxymitragynine or 7 oh”.[10] A law firm's summary of the complaint names the defendant as “latro inc doing business as dozo perks” and says that “a recovering opioid user claims he was misled into believing dozo perks were a benign kratom supplement”. It says the complaint alleges that the “branding and pill design allegedly mimicked street opioids”.[59] These are the plaintiff's allegations, not findings. We did not read the complaint or the docket, and we do not know where the case stands.

The DEA. The DEA's temporary order placing mitragynine pseudoindoxyl and MGM-15 in Schedule I, published on 2026-08-26, uses a Dozo Perks listing as an example. In a passage on marketing for medical conditions it says “these products are explicitly marketed for easing stress and tension”, and that “this marketing encourages individuals with legitimate medical needs to utilize potent unlawful opioids as self treatment”. Its footnote reads “see dozo perks extremely potent pseudoindoxyl chewable tablet grape 100mg per tablet”, at a retailer's website.[60] The order took effect at once: “this temporary order is effective august 26 2026 until august 26 2028”.[60] On 2026-10-09 the DEA filed a second temporary order, placing 7-OH and pseudoindoxyl above a threshold in Schedule I, for publication on 2026-10-14.[61] Our deep dive on what replaced 7-OH has the history of both orders.

What the brand told buyers about the law. Through 2025 the FAQ said “perks are made with kratom ingredients and are federally legal”, called the tablet “one of the strongest legal tabs out there”, and answered a question about drug tests with “standard drug tests typically do not screen for 7 oh” because it is “not cannabis or an opioid”.[49] The DEA's order, of the pseudoindoxyl products, says “potent unlawful opioids”.[60] The 2026 terms of service carry a different warning: “this product may be harmful to your health addictive may cause dependence”.[12] Buyers noticed addiction warnings on the cards themselves from mid-2025: “they have a disclaimer about abuse and addiction potential for the product”.[62]

Allegations: who says what, why, and what we could check

That MG-X contains MGM-15 the card does not name. Buyers have said it since MG-X appeared in mid-2026. In August one wrote “i think their lab tests are falsified”, because “the labs say supposedly their mg x tabs have 30mg of the casino compound and 80 of mit”, and the tablet felt weak to him. Casino is buyers' slang for MGM-15; another buyer explained MG-X as Dozo's “proprietary name for em gee em”, that is, MGM.[63][64] Another, in September: “on the pack it says they have 125 mg of mit”, but “i did look up the coa and it says they contain more mgm 15 than anything”.[65] A third: “it says so on the actual lab results but not the package”.[66] At the end of September a buyer wrote that “no coa was available for the old mg x”, but that a PharmLabs certificate for the 125 mg Strawberry tablet was now posted, “showing 33 08mg of mgm 15 per tablet plus 80 7mg mitragynine and 11mg speciociliatine”.[67] In March 2026 a buyer looking for “emgee” bought a Dozo tablet at the web shop Kures: “i saw kures had a b2g1 on the prop blend edition of dozo”.[68]

What we could check: the MG-X card in a buyer's photograph names no alkaloid, only a weight per tablet and per serving.[30] The brand's own page describes MG-X as “mitragynine dominant”.[28] We did not find the MG-X certificate the buyers describe, on the brand's lab page or in the archive. The brand's certificates for its other 2026 mitragynine tablet, Kratom Extracts, test for MGM-15 and find none.[51] If the buyers read the certificate correctly, MG-X held MGM-15 without naming it, and was on sale after the DEA placed MGM-15 in Schedule I on 2026-08-26.[60] We could not confirm it.

That the certificates are not what is in the pack. One reader of the MG-X thread complained of brand certificates with “impossibly consistent results like 100mg tabs being exactly 100mg”.[67] What we could check: in 2024 the brand's certificates showed its own tablets below the label, as the independent tester did.[50][56] From 2025 its certificates show tablets at or above the label, and no independent test of those batches exists that we found. One buyer found that the QR code on a card from another brand, Proxie, led to a Dozo certificate: “the qr code takes me to a dozo perks” certificate.[69] We found nothing else connecting Proxie to Dozo.

That Dozo bought the Limitless brand. From November 2025 buyers have repeated it, citing smoke-shop staff. “limitless has sold to dozo perks”, one wrote, attributing it to a regional distributor, “out the mouth of the distributor themselves”.[70] Another: “one of the managers also told me that dozo bought out limitless completely”.[71] No buyer posted a document, and no record we read names an owner of Limitless. It stays a rumour.

If you bought a Dozo product and had it tested, rate it below or comment on the thread at the foot of this page.

Still open

Who owns Dozo now. Latro Inc. of Corona, California, is on the trademark, the FDA letter and the lawsuit; ZVX LLC of Las Vegas is on the storefront from September 2026; the certificates name Nectris in between. The California and Nevada business registries are the next places to look, under all three names.

What is in MG-X. The certificate buyers describe was not found; an independent test would settle it.

Where the class action stands. We read the filing only through two summaries.

Whether Dozo still sells 7-OH after the federal order takes effect on 2026-10-14. The archived home page of 2026-09-18 lists no 7-OH products.[13]
