domain registered May 2020, trading since at least August 2020

    Evidence: [3][4]

  • Where there are results, do they agree with the label, the marketing and the reported effects?

no certificate was compared with a product

  • Are contents and amounts stated on the product?

    Evidence: [30][52][53]

  • Pattern of complaints about wrong, inert, contaminated or mislabelled product?

20 threads describe substitution without consent and 25 short or missing items, most of them in the July and August 2026 clearance

    Evidence: [30][50][41][51]

  • Chargebacks refused, refunds unanswered, processors dropped?

cards refused and buyers sent to Cash App; shipping protection of $25 to $70; shipping labels and orders buyers say they never placed

    Evidence: [37][38][40][44][45]

  • Warning letters, seizures, lawsuits, attorney-general actions, platform bans?

no warning letter found; named in a federal trademark complaint as a customer of the defendants; sold an MGM-15 blend in the weeks before the federal order

    Evidence: [11][16][22][77][76]

  • Is there any attempt to keep minors out?

a one-click 21+ box; some buyers were asked for a photo of their ID

    Evidence: [14][10][43]

  • Does it say what the legal status of what it sells is, honestly, where it ships?

a state and county exclusion list and long disclaimers; the terms call the store a reseller that designs nothing while some labels carry its name

    Evidence: [15][10][14]

The long read

Who they say they are, and what the record says

Kures Apothecary is a web shop at kures.co. It is not Kures, Inc., the biotech company that took a modified mitragynine into a single human trial and was wound up in 2024; our deep dive on the politics of 7-OH covers that company. Buyers confuse the two. In February 2026 a post claimed the shop was “a part of the push to schedule 7oh taking the right to” use it, and a reply set it straight: the biotech “was absorbed by atai life sciences now ataibeckley inc”.[1] Two days later another buyer wrote that “kures apothecary and kures therapeutical are two different entities”.[2]

The domain kures.co was registered on 2020-05-06 through Namecheap, with the owner's details withheld.[3] The archive's first capture, on 2020-08-07, shows a small shop with a menu that opens “cbd all cbd cbd oil cbd wax cbd edibles”, kratom, rolling papers and vaporisers, and a footer address of “423 elmwood ave buffalo new york 14222”. Its sign-off was “copy 2020 kures co seek your antidote”.[4][5]

Figure 1. kures.co on 2020-08-07, the archive's first capture: a CBD, kratom and smoking-accessories shop with a Buffalo, New York address in its footer. [4]

By 2022 the shop had a new address and a new slogan, “find your elixir for life”, and a category list that ran through “disposable cartridges hhc kratom”. Its footer read “461 ellicott st 4th flr buffalo ny 14203”.[6] The same Buffalo address was still on the home page in November 2024: “461 ellicott st 4th floor buffalo new york 14203 kures apothecary 2024 all rights reserved”.[7]

Figure 2. The home page on 2022-08-08. The store sold kratom brands and HHC cartridges under a wellness banner; the footer still gave Buffalo. [6]

The business was already in Nevada by then, by its own account. A Reddit account that answers for the shop, u/dailyherballife, wrote on 2024-11-02 that its author was “the owner of kures a small online shop right here in las vegas and” that “we work closely with one of the largest distributors in the u s and directly with” brands.[8] By August 2025 the footer had caught up: “2025 kures apothecary 4655 quality ct unit a las vegas nv”.[9] The terms now say they “are governed by the laws of the state of nevada”,[10] and a federal complaint filed in Las Vegas in 2026 describes a “customer kures apothecary located in las vegas nevada”.[11] Buyers agree on the shipping end: “they ship from vegas i'm in ca and got my package less than 48” hours later.[12]

No legal entity is named anywhere on the site we read, in the terms or the footer (see Still open).

The shop runs more than one storefront. In February 2026 a buyer noticed that “there are 2 kures sites and they are identical”,[13] and the October 2026 footer settles it: “kures co owns the website kuresapothecary com and kures com”.[14] The second domain, kuresapothecary.com, was registered in April 2025.

Figure 3. The foot of the same page, with the one-click age box over it. The last line says one business runs all three domains. [14]

The About page has not changed its story since the apothecary years. In September 2026 it still said “kures is a wellness lifestyle brand created to help make life just a little bit brighter”, and that it had “had the privilege of serving hundreds of customers with the best prices”.[15] The banner on the same page claimed thousands more. In July 2026 it read “4 9 rated 70k customers”;[16] by October, “4 9 rated 100k customers 24 7 support”.[14] The map listing a buyer posted in June showed 4.9 stars from 369 reviews, a Las Vegas telephone number, and the category vitamin and supplements store.[17]

Two Reddit accounts speak for the shop in the first person. Besides the owner's, u/Cool_Lingonberry3533 introduced itself to an unhappy buyer in August 2026 as “the manager at kures i've reached out to you twice but haven't heard back yet i genuinely want to help”,[18] and answered another in the company's voice: “we truly appreciate your patience and understanding while we worked to make things right for you”.[19]

What they sell

Kratom leaf, then 7-OH. Until 2024 the catalogue was mostly leaf kratom from established brands, “opms silver white vein indo kratom capsules” among them, with a small “7 oh clearance” section in the menu.[7] A year later the menu read “7 oh pseudo kratom brands blog contact”, and the filters counted 321 tablet products, nearly all of them 7-OH from other brands, such as “kratom kulture 7ohmz platinum 7oh kratom extract tablets”.[9] Opia, Press'd, Dozo, Haven, 7Stax and dozens more are on the brand list. A South Carolina smoke-shop owner wrote in May 2026 that “i buy the opia 100mg 20ct bottles for around 52 doll hair wholesale and kures is selling them for around 55 doll”; under a second copy of the post a reader answered “it just sounds like an ai ad for kures”.[20][21]

Everything else, 2026. By October 2026 the menu read “7oh kratom mgm prop blend pseudo shroom 4ho vape libido”, and the filter bar offered 1,595 products.[14] The terms describe the range in their own first clause: “kures sells and or resells botanical hemp derived alkaloid containing and similar products” including kratom, 7-OH, and “pseudoindoxyl related products functional mushrooms” and cannabinoids, and they warn that “these products may be potent and may be habit forming”.[10] The vape section is nicotine disposables, Geek Bar, Lost Mary and Mr Fog among them, under the line “warning this product contains nicotine nicotine is an addictive chemical”.[14]

MGM-15. In July 2026 the shop sold Proxie tablets of 7-OH and MGM-15 together, described as “mgm 15 mgm blend semi synthetic derivative designed for enhanced potency and extended activity profile”.[16] MGM-15 is a semi-synthetic opioid made from a kratom alkaloid. The DEA's temporary order placed it in Schedule I nationally: “this temporary order is effective august 26 2026 until august 26 2028”.[22] The MGM tab was still in the site's menu on 2026-10-07.[14] What it listed by then is not in the capture we read.

A Kures product page in July 2026: a banner reading 7OH Ban Deadline July 31, Speak Up + Get 3000mg Free, with Sign Petition buttons, a menu including MGM, and the breadcrumb Proxie MGM + 7OH Kratom Extract Tablets Cherry 1000mg.
Figure 7. A tablet sold as MGM-15 and 7-OH, on 2026-07-30. The banner offers 3,000 mg of free product for signing what the site calls a petition. [16]

Prop blends and cat's claw. “Prop blend” is the trade's name for tablets sold as alternatives to 7-OH whose labels list a proprietary blend. The October 2026 brand filter lists “score 4 script 7 se7en 16”, that is seven Script products,[14] the cat's-claw tablets described in our Script Botanicals dossier; a buyer there wrote “These script tabs from Kures actually hit really well for me”.[23] The same page lists others in the line, such as “buzzers cat s claw tablets purple taffy”.[14]

Synthetic psychedelics sold as mushrooms. The “Shroom/4HO” tab holds two things that are not mushrooms. The XUM tablets were filed under “brand xum category mushroom”, and the listing calls them “precision crafted chewable tabs using high purity metocin 4 ho met”, “a modern controlled alternative to traditional mushrooms”.[24] Metocin is 4-HO-MET, a synthetic tryptamine. The PLUR drinks are listed as “plur beyond molly mushroom shot 100mg 5mapb”,[25] and 5-MAPB is a synthetic benzofuran related to MDMA. The listing's breadcrumb files it as “best 7oh alternative shroom 4ho shots”.[25] A buyer wrote that “kures claims plur is a mushroom supplement on their site”.[26] The shop's own blog calls the compound something else: a reader who found “there's a nice write up on plur posted today on the kures blog” posted the page, which calls 5-MAPB a synthetic chemical sold as an alternative to MDMA.[27]

Figure 10. The store's own blog, posted by a reader on 2026-05-01, calls 5-MAPB a synthetic alternative to MDMA. The listing calls it a mushroom. [27]

Its own name on the label. The terms say “kures is an independent retailer and reseller only unless expressly stated in a written agreement signed by kures”, and that “kures does not manufacture produce formulate process test alter relabel repackage or design any third party branded products”.[10] Some products carry its name all the same. In September 2026 a buyer listed “kures x kream collab 2000mg bottles” among what was still in stock,[28] and in October another, comparing two Haven bottles, found that “one says kuresxhaven ans the other is just haven”.[29] The shop's own product images show Haven 7-OH bottles with KURES printed on the label. Nothing we read shows whether a written agreement covers them.

What buyers report

We searched the local Arctic Shift archive of r/7oh, r/7_hydroxymitragynine, r/mysterymagicmushrooms and r/KratomKorner for the shop's names on 2026-10-11. 1,147 posts mention Kures between February 2022 and 2026-10-06: 618 in r/7oh, 469 in r/7_hydroxymitragynine, 56 in r/mysterymagicmushrooms and 4 in r/KratomKorner. Most are from 2026; August alone has 288. Every post with Kures in the title and a comment thread was read, 325 threads, with about 70 more chosen from the rest by keyword, about 395 in all.[30] A thread counts once in each group it fits, so the groups overlap, and the counts are lower bounds.

What the thread describes Threads
An order delivered as described, or fast 40
Courier delay, or a label created and nothing more 20
An order that never arrived or was returned 14
A parcel damaged, opened or crushed 13
Short counts or missing items, including promised gifts 25
A product swapped for another without consent 20
A listing that did not match the product 12
A counterfeit alleged 12
Refund, store-credit or chargeback trouble 22
An order, label or charge the buyer says they did not make 10
Praise for service, gifts or replacements 30
Complaints about ads, AI-generated ads or email 21
Shill, bot or astroturf allegations 31

The good reports are about speed and replacements. One buyer whose parcel was lost wrote that “kures immediately resent my order and even upgraded the shipping from ground advantage to priority for free”.[31] Another, “i left a 5 star review because their customer support and shipping are exceptionally good”.[17] A third found that “this one came with a personalized note”.[32]

States it stopped shipping to. Buyers record the checkout closing state by state. Indiana and Florida were refused from 2026-01-15;[33] in Georgia, a buyer wrote in March, “they were shipping to me as early as 3 weeks ago and now suddenly” not;[34] Texas followed in April.[35] In October a Florida buyer reported that “as soon as you put in your shipping address there is a pop up that says it is illegal in your state”.[36] The site's own exclusion list grew to match. In August 2025 it began “this product is not available for shipment to the following states alabama arkansas indiana rhode island wisconsin”;[9] by September 2026 it included “georgia arkansas florida indiana rhode island tennessee texas wisconsin ohio”.[15]

Paying. Card payments often failed, and buyers were steered to Cash App: “they dont take mastercard debit i ended up making a cash app account completely from scratch just to place this” order;[37] “you now have to use cashapp as ccs aren't being accepted or something and cash app gave me a warning”.[38] The owner's account had written in 2025 that “we currently accept crypto through coinbase but only about 1 of our customers know how to use it as we” would like.[39] Shipping protection is sold at checkout, and buyers object to the price: “kures is charging outrageous prices for shipping protection”.[40] One buyer with a short order said “they wanted me to pay an extra 70 for shipping protection or they wouldn't fix anything”.[41] The terms warn that “payment disputes and chargebacks that are fraudulent or abusive may result in account bans”,[10] and a buyer put it shorter: “if you contest them they ban you”.[42]

Proof of identity. Some buyers were asked for more than a card. In January 2026 one wrote “now they're asking for an id and signed affidavit for a police investigation when it was” their own parcel that went missing.[12] In September another asked “how many other vendors require a picture of your id”.[43]

Orders nobody placed. Ten threads describe orders or shipping labels the buyer did not make. In November 2025: “i have a new order from kures and i didn't order anything from them”.[44] In August 2026: “a shipping label from kures was created and is waiting for details but i didnt order”.[45] None of these threads established a cause.

The clearance, July and August 2026

The DEA published its notice of intent to schedule 7-OH above a threshold on 2026-07-06,[46] and the shop ran a clearance into the deadline. A countdown sat at the top of every page; one buyer read it on 2026-07-23 as “the countdown thing they have at the top of the page says 8 days july 31st”.[47] Offers stacked buy-one-get-several deals on referral credit. The referral scheme gave both sides credit, and one buyer wrote “i got over 60 referrals so ended up with like 3 4 grand worth of product on their dime”.[48] The largest of the subreddits posted a rule against it: “no affilate referral links or codes allowed”.[49]

The cluster of complaints in the table sits in those weeks. Buyers describe the shop selling stock it did not have and filling orders with something else. “instead of refunding me kures made the executive decision to sub those all out with products i didnt” order, one wrote on 2026-07-30.[50] Another: “they send a text saying they swapped it out with rave mind you those are 4ct 50mg packs”.[41] A third, short most of an order of three sets of four: “i ordered 3 sets so i should have gotten 12 and i only got” three.[51] Another short buyer was “only offered 5 dollars worth of points to make up” the difference.[42] The third buyer wrote “kures is exit scamming right now big time”.[51] The shop did not close. It mailed restock notices into October: “i just got an email saying that haven was back in stock”, a buyer wrote on 2026-10-05.[29] A buyer who had been offered store credit instead of a refund summed it up: “kures has repeatedly sold out of stock product and then offloaded unwanted inventory onto customers instead if we don't like” it.[18]

Parcels in that window also stalled. One buyer had a “label created waiting on the package with usps for 10 dayd now”;[52] another watched a parcel, out for delivery, go “heading the direction back to vegas”.[53] One parcel arrived in a manufacturer's carton: “kures sent my package with a big ass pressd logo” on the side.[54]

The petition gift

From late July the site's banner offered product for comments to the government. On the Proxie listing it read “7oh ban deadline july 31 speak up get 3000mg free”, with buttons to sign.[16] A buyer explained the mechanics: “go to the kures website and sign the petition in the upper right corner after you place an order the freebie will” be added.[55] The gift that buyer received was a single 300 mg Opia tablet of 7-OH.

A foil packet on a wire rack: Opia Advanced Alkaloids, 7-hydroxymitragynine, 300mg total, 1x Tablet, Grape Crush.
Figure 13. The free gift for signing the site's petition, as one buyer received it on 2026-07-24: one 300 mg 7-OH tablet. [55]

Some gifts were not 7-OH alone. “didn't realize it's 7oh mixed with mgm 15”, one buyer wrote on 2026-08-04.[56] Others never came: “not willing to fulfill their promised 1500mg for signing the dea petition”,[57] and three weeks later, “how many people didn't get their 3000 mg gift”.[58] In October the banner was still there, changed to “7oh ban deadline sept 10 share your story to stop the ban”, and its comment form told buyers to “explain why the 1 mg threshold would negatively affect you”.[14] The comment period it pointed to had closed: STAT reported that the DEA had not acted “after an extended public comment period ended on sept 10 with nearly 36 000 submissions”.[59]

Allegations: who says what, why, and what we could check

That Kures sold counterfeit tablets. Twelve threads allege it. In January 2026 a buyer wrote “they sent me a counterfeit bottle of 7stax i have proof of the bottle and the tablets i have emailed” the shop.[12] In February, of Zourz tablets: “kures products are not real first giveaway was they don't break the” way the real ones do, and “kures sold me fake pure7 tabs as well”.[60] In May: “they sold me counterfeit 7ohmz dhm tabs bro”.[61] An account that speaks for the shop said the brands concerned were “going after false claims for their brand damage”.[62] None of the buyers' photos settles whether a tablet was genuine, and no laboratory test of one was posted.

What we could check is the Pure7 claim, because a court file names the shop. Two companies claim the Pure7 trademark for 7-OH products, and one has sued the other in federal court in Nevada. In its amended complaint of February 2026 the plaintiff, Life Root, alleges that the defendants' “customer kures apothecary located in las vegas nevada has advertised marketed and” promoted 7-OH products under the disputed mark, and that after one such sale “a retail customer of the 7oh products contacted life root to complain about” the product's quality.[11] So a Pure7 product bought at Kures may have come from the other side of a dispute over who owns the name. The complaint is one party's account. Kures is not a party, and the question of who owns the mark had not been decided: an arbitrator's order quoted in the filing says “this matter is stayed pending a judicial determination of the ownership of life root”.[11][63]

Page 15 of a federal complaint, paragraphs 75 and 76: Defendants' customer, Kures Apothecary, located in Las Vegas, Nevada, has advertised, marketed and promoted 7OH products using the Infringing Mark.
Figure 14. The trademark complaint filed in Nevada federal court in February 2026, naming Kures as a customer of the defendants. Kures is not a party. [11]

The shop's terms answer every claim of this kind in advance. They disclaim responsibility for “counterfeit diverted or improperly sourced goods originating upstream” and say such complaints “must be directed solely to the manufacturer brand owner or upstream supplier not to kures”.[10] Its product pages carry a comparison table that rates other sellers' “authenticity possible counterfeits genuine products” against its own.[25]

That Kures advertises through accounts that do not say so. A reader in r/mysterymagicmushrooms wrote on 2026-04-19 that “a few dozen accounts started posting covert ads for kures apothecary”, counted that “there have been at least 350 of these posts since june 2025”, and listed twelve subreddits.[64] One named account replied that it earned referral credit and was not staff: “i just have a code which i give to people for which i” get points.[64] Under the 4.9-star listing, a buyer wrote “they very obviously astrotuf heavily so i wouldn't trust their” reviews.[17]

A Reddit post titled Xum: shoutout to that one legend who posted about that B2G1 deal from kures, I bought 10 and they gave me 5 extra free.
Figure 15. One of the posts a reader collected on 2026-04-19 as an example of covert Kures advertising. The account name is cropped out. [64]

What we could check is the shop's own accounts. The owner's account posted price tips as a shopper would, “cant find cheaper price than kures co and type in welcome10 for” a discount, in April 2025,[65] and in June another user asked it “did you make a second account just to make your website look good”.[66] The account that later introduced itself as the manager had opened a thread in February 2026 as a customer: “kures finally got limitless 100mg with freebies should i give it a” try.[67] Both accounts speak for the shop in some threads and as buyers in others. Whether the other accounts in the April count are paid is not something the posts show; the referral scheme pays anyone who brings a buyer, which is the explanation the named account gave.

That its ads were made by a machine. This one the shop admits. Buyers posted ads that told viewers to “give your furry friends the give they deserve”, with a pet beside a 7-OH product,[68] and complained of “ai ads on instagram promoting 7oh as the new party drug”.[69] One described an ad that “had a cat holding dozo and it said” the product was for pets.[70] On 2026-01-13 a statement signed by the Kures Team circulated, relayed by buyers who said it arrived by email: “we wanted to share a brief and transparent update regarding a recent advertising” incident; “the content in question was generated by tiktok's ai system and not manually created or approved”; the shop had “permanently disabled all automated ad generation features on our account”.[70] The ads did not stop. In April a parent wrote that “a kures add popped up on youtube when my kid was watching the magic” show,[64] and in October a buyer described one in which “an overly zoomed in picture of an ai girl instructs you to take opioids multiple times daily”.[71]

If you bought from Kures and had a product tested, or received something you believe was counterfeit, rate it below or comment on the thread at the foot of this page.

Lab results

Kures publishes no tests of its own. Its terms say it does not manufacture, test or relabel the products it resells,[10] and the certificates a buyer sees are the brands', reached through QR codes on the packs or linked from the listings. One buyer who scanned a bottle of Haven found that “when i scan the qr code it takes me to labs for the 150mg blisters”, a different product.[72] Buyers also say a listing can understate what is inside. Of MGM-15 in a 7-OH tablet, one wrote “its unadvertised on the product but they sneak it in”.[73]

Labels that do not match. In January 2026 a buyer found a tablet they had bought as a pseudoindoxyl product relisted under the blend category: “it has prop blend as it says the previous ones we used to get” said pseudo.[74] In September another found the back-of-pack image on a 7-OH tablet listing showing a THC product: the tablets “seem to be labeled as thc pills what is going” on.[75] The image in that post is a cannabis product's facts panel, 10.5 mg of THC a tablet, from an Oklahoma distributor.

This site's lab-results section holds no test of a product bought from Kures.

Regulatory and legal

An FDA site search for “Kures Apothecary” and kures.co on 2026-10-11 returned no warning letter.[76] CourtListener's federal index returned one case that names the shop, the Pure7 trademark suit above, in which Kures is named as a customer and is not a party.[63][11]

Three rules bear on what the shop sells. The DEA's temporary order made MGM-15 and mitragynine pseudoindoxyl Schedule I drugs from 2026-08-26;[22] the shop had sold an MGM-15 blend a month before, and its menu still carried an MGM tab in October.[16][14] On 2026-10-09 the DEA filed a temporary order placing 7-OH and pseudoindoxyl above a threshold in Schedule I, for publication on 2026-10-14.[77] On 2026-10-07 the shop was still selling 7-OH. The site's footer says “products sold by kures apothecary are not dietary supplements”,[14] and its age check is a one-click box over the page; the terms add that “you must be at least 21 years old to purchase any product from kures”.[10]

Still open

Who owns Kures Apothecary. The site names no company, the domain records withhold the registrant, and the owner's and manager's accounts give no surname. Nevada's business registry is the next place to search, under Kures and Kures Apothecary.

Why the Buffalo addresses. The site gave two Buffalo, New York addresses from 2020 to late 2024 while the owner's account said Las Vegas from 2024. Whether the business moved or the footer was simply not updated is not in the record we read.

What the MGM tab sold after 2026-08-26. The October capture we read shows the tab in the menu, not its contents.

Whether any tablet buyers called counterfeit was. No buyer posted a laboratory result for one. A test of a sealed bottle bought from Kures beside the same product bought from the brand would settle a case.
