Be the first. The form below takes about twenty seconds and needs no account.
The two grades are never combined. Ours is what the record shows; theirs is what people who dealt with this entity say.
-
Is there an identifiable legal operator: a registered name, a jurisdiction, an address that resolves?
a trade name and a suite at a Long Beach, then Signal Hill, address on the site; the legal entity, Pure Leaf Kratom, LLC, and its alleged operator are named only in the Texas petition
-
Where there are results, do they agree with the label, the marketing and the reported effects?
the State's laboratory found 48% to 92% of the labelled 7-OH in three brands' tablets and pseudoindoxyl in all five products; other brands' labels, an exhibit in a pending suit

The long read
Who they say they are, and what the record says
Pure Leaf Kratom is a web shop at pureleafkratom.com. Its About page tells a leaf story: “founded in 2019 pure leaf kratom provides quality kratom”, and its “products undergo rigorous testing and quality control”.[1] The current registration of the domain was created on 2019-11-06 through GoDaddy, behind Cloudflare.[2] The archive holds pages under the same name from 2015 to 2018, before that date, which this dossier does not attribute to the present shop. The first full capture of the current site is from July 2022.[3]

Figure 1. The storefront on 2022-07-24, the archive's first full capture of the current site: leaf kratom from other brands and its own, under the slogan best brands, lowest prices. [4]
In 2022 the shop sold leaf kratom, its own and other brands', under the slogan “pure leaf kratom best brands lowest prices satisfaction guaranteed” and a Long Beach area code: “give us a call 562 343 5717”.[4] Its brand menu opened with its own name: “brands pure leaf kratom pure leaf kratom extracts pure leaf kratom capsules pure leaf kratom powder raw kratom”.[4]
The site names no company. In 2023 its footer gave a suite in Long Beach, California: “2201 n lakewood blvd suite d 636 long beach ca 90815”.[1] By 2026 the contact page gave a suite in neighbouring Signal Hill, “address 2201 e willow street ste d 136 signal hill ca 90755”,[5] and the terms send legal notices to “pure leaf kratom attn legal 2201 e willow st ste d 136 signal hill ca 90755”.[6] The same terms reserve rights “under the laws of new jersey”, a state the site gives no address in.[6]
The legal names come from a court filing. The State of Texas sued “pure leaf kratom llc d b a pureleafkratom com and outcast distribution llc” in April 2026.[7] Its petition describes Pure Leaf Kratom as a company that “is a foreign limited liability company with a principal place of business at 2201 n lakewood blvd long beach ca 90815”, and Outcast Distribution as one “with a principal place of business at 1892 freedom ave signal hill ca 90755”.[7] The State pleads, on information and belief, that “upon information and belief pure leaf kratom is a subsidiary and operated by defendant outcast”.[7] That relationship is the State's allegation; the shop's pages do not mention Outcast Distribution.
The About page was rewritten by September 2026 and kept the founding year: “founded in 2019 pure leaf kratom was created to make high quality kratom accessible and affordable”, with the promise that “every batch undergoes third party lab testing to guarantee safety”.[8] Hidden in the same page is a block of placeholder text from a web template, beginning “the journey so far sodales neque sodales ut etiam”.[8] The page links the shop's own subreddit, “reddit r pureleafkratom”.[8]

Figure 2. The About page on 2026-09-09. Its story is a leaf kratom shop founded in 2019; it promises third-party testing of every batch. [8]
A second web shop shares the Signal Hill suite. The footer of amsterdamsmoke.shop, archived in June 2026, reads “footer start 2201 e willow st d 136 signal hill ca 90755”,[9] the address on Pure Leaf's contact page. A buyer waiting on orders from both in August 2026 wrote “i believe they are connected as the websites are exactly the same”.[10] The shared address is what the record shows; who runs the second shop is not established here.
What they sell
Leaf kratom, then 7-OH. The 2022 shop sold powders and capsules and a kava menu.[4] By July 2025 its menu read “7 oh 7 oh vapes 7 oh tablets 7 oh shots pseudo”.[11] By September 2026 the first item after Deals was 7-OH: “deals more less 7 oh 7 oh tablets 7 oh shots kratom shots”.[12] The popular-brands list in the footer is a list of 7-OH and extract brands: “popular brands 7tabz press'd edp hydroxie 7 o'heaven 7ohmz mit45”.[12] The shop is a reseller. A buyer put it this way in March 2025: these shops “all look like nice professional websites good prices and sell the brands smoke shops carry at a discount”.[13]
The brand pages archived include Proxie, with listings such as “proxie 7 hydroxymitragynine energy blend tablets cherry 40mg per tablet”,[14] Dozo Perks, such as “dozo perks 7 hydroxymitragynine euphoria blend strawberry banana 35mg per tablet”,[15] and Opia, whose tablets Texas bought here (below). Our dossiers on Proxie, Dozo and Opia cover the brands.

Figure 3. A brand page on 2025-08-14. The menu already had a Pseudo section alongside 7-OH. [14]
Pseudoindoxyl. The Pseudo menu sold tablets of mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, a semi-synthetic opioid made from a kratom alkaloid, such as “kama 7 hydroxy pseudoindoxyl chewable tablets purple cherry 50mg per tablet”.[16] The DEA cites one of these listings and a Dozo Perks one in its scheduling documents (see Regulatory and legal).
MGM-15. In April 2026 the shop had an MGM page under its Alkaloid Collection menu. It listed tablets named for the compound, “chewz mgm 15 mystery flavor 80mg chewable tablet” and “mana mgm 15 kratom chewable tablets strawberry 25mg”.[17] The page's own text said otherwise about what the letters mean: “mgm does not refer to a plant or ingredient instead it is a product category name”, and “mgm products are made using 7 hydroxymitragynine 7 oh”.[17] MGM-15 is a semi-synthetic opioid derived from mitragynine, and from 2026-08-26 a Schedule I drug: “this temporary order is effective august 26 2026 until august 26 2028”.[18] The menu on the shipping page in June still ended “kratom extract blends mgm”.[19]

Figure 4. The MGM page on 2026-04-15. The products are named MGM-15; the page's own text says MGM is a category name and not an ingredient. [17]
After the scheduling. In September 2026 the home page carried a banner announcing that 7-OH was still here and better than ever. The text under it calls the range safe: “every product we offer is safe and chemical free”, and “we offer kratom 100 guaranteed organic and free from additives”.[12] The same page counts “more than 50 000 satisfied customers”.[12] Later in September a buyer posted a listing for a tablet sold as containing no 7-OH, which gave its contents as “ingredients proprietary blend corydalis yanhusuo extract kava extract mitragyna speciosa extract”.[20]

Figure 5. The home page on 2026-09-09, two months after the DEA's notice on 7-OH: a banner says 7-OH is still here and better than ever. [12]
What buyers report
We searched the local archive of 38 subreddits on 2026-10-12 for posts naming the shop (“pure leaf kratom”, “pureleaf”, “PLK”). 258 posts in 10 subreddits matched, three in 2023, 67 in 2024, 83 in 2025 and 105 in 2026, most of them in r/7_hydroxymitragynine. We read about 60 threads in full; the permalinks are in the source list. Reports run both ways.
Good reports. In 2024 one buyer wrote that “these guys are consistently the fastest at fulfilling my orders”,[21] and another that “they fixed their error on my order stand up place to do business with”.[22] Under a post about a wrong order, another buyer said of their own mix-up that “they apologized and made it right”.[23] In August 2026 a buyer stocking up before the federal deadline wrote “i placed three orders with plk as well had no issues getting my orders”.[24]
Shipping. In January 2025 a buyer who paid for express shipping posted that the parcel had still not reached the post office two days after the label was made; a reply advised “do a chargeback through your credit card company”.[25] In late November 2025 the site went down. A buyer wrote “my favorite online store pureleafkratom com is down right now”,[26] and another had “got an email saying website will be down for” maintenance after reading that the shop had “pulled all their 7oh products”.[27] In December a buyer said that “many many people have not got their orders or money back”.[28] By March 2026 a buyer reported “the shipping has really stepped up since november”.[29]
The pattern returned in the rush before the federal deadline in August 2026. A buyer waiting on an unshipped order said “when you call you just get an aswering service”.[30] Another reported “mine just arrived with absolutely zero updates”.[10] One buyer said the shop “left out 10 bottles of my stuff”.[31] One filed a chargeback after two weeks of silence and then received everything: “so the day after the chargeb ack they sent it out”.[32]
Referral links. The shop pays a reward for referrals, and buyers post their links: “i love pure leaf kratom shop through my link to get a reward”.[33] Several of the good reviews quoted above carry one in the same thread.
Where it stopped shipping. In October 2025 a Texas buyer reported that the shop “said they are no longer allowed to ship any 7 products to tx”.[34] In June 2026 a buyer explained the Texas stop by the lawsuit: the attorney general “is suing them thru the 2 law”.[35] In August another said the shop had sent “an email in july saying they were no longer going to be shipping anywhere in california”, its home state, while it advertised “buy one pressd tab get 10 free” elsewhere.[36] In July a buyer reported seeing a July 31 ban date on the shop's site: “i just saw it on pureleaf”.[37]
Allegations: who says what, why, and what we could check
The State of Texas. The State alleges that the shop told Texans one thing and shipped another. The claim and the evidence are in the petition and are set out under Regulatory and legal. It is an allegation in a pending case.
Buyers: counterfeit cards. From 2024 on, buyers have posted photographs of cards bought here beside cards bought in shops and said the ones from the website were not genuine.
In July 2024 a buyer posted three bottles of a kratom shot and wrote “the two on the left are real the one on the right is the fake one”; a reader answered that “it sounds like you just took too much kratom”.[38] In November 2024 another posted two cards of 7 O'Heaven tablets and wrote “the package on the left from pureleaf kratom i believe are counterfeit”, adding “i emailed them about it and sent them photos but have yet to hear back from them”.[39] The photograph shows two different products under the same brand: the left card lists kratom leaf as its ingredient and the right card is printed 7-hydroxymitragynine. A different product is not by itself a counterfeit. Earlier that year a buyer had written that “the whole discussion of fake tablets is a serious accusation”.[40]

Figure 6. A buyer's photograph, 2024-11-22: on the left a card bought from Pure Leaf, on the right one from a local shop. The left card's ingredient line names kratom leaf, not 7-OH. [39]
In February 2026 a buyer compared two cards of Opia tablets and asked readers to “notice how the marketing slogan that says” feel lighter was missing from the card bought here. A reply suggested it was “just a different batch look at the exp dates”.[41] In June the same account posted an update that it was “super relieved to find out they” sold no counterfeits, after “one company personally reached out to me via dm saying that plk is a certified vendor”.[42] The retraction rests on a message from a company the post does not name.
In December 2025 a buyer called the shop a scam over a tablet of which they wrote “it was incredibly underdosed”; a reply placed the problem with the brands, the shop being “just the middle man selling them”.[43] In September 2026 a buyer who received six bottles of Smurphs tablets in a free-product offer described “an overwhelming smell of what smells like paint thinner nail polish remover”; a reply suggested to “leave them all out open in a ventilated area for a little bit”.[44] In September 2025 a buyer who had ordered green apple Opia tablets here said a community test showed “i see that the green apple have higher than acceptable amount of residual methanol in them”.[45] That test was of the brand's tablets, not of a pack from this shop.

Figure 7. Six bottles from a buy-one-get-four offer, posted 2026-09-02. The buyer describes a solvent smell; no test was posted. [44]
What we could check. No buyer posted a laboratory result for a pack bought here. The only tests of products bought here that we found are the State of Texas's, of five sealed products (below); they measure strength and pseudoindoxyl, and they do not address whether a card is genuine. A test of a sealed card bought here beside the same lot bought from the brand would settle a case.
If you bought from Pure Leaf Kratom and had a product tested, or received something you believe was counterfeit, rate it below or comment on the thread at the foot of this page.
Lab results
The shop promises testing of everything it sells: “every batch undergoes third party lab testing to guarantee safety”.[8] Its products are other brands', and their certificates are the brands'. This site's lab-results section holds no test of a product bought from it.
The State of Texas's petition reports a test of five products its investigators bought from the site on 2026-03-04. The products went to the “university of florida translational drug development core”.[7] Per tablet or bottle, the laboratory reported:
- 7OHMZ tablets labelled 14 mg: “tddc found that each tablet contained 12 84 mg of 7 oh and 1 52 mg of mitragynine pseudoindoxyl”.[7]
- Luma 7-OH shot labelled 80 mg: “tddc found that the 30 ml bottle contained 42 17 mg of mp”, that is, of mitragynine pseudoindoxyl. The petition gives no 7-OH figure for the shot.[7]
- Smurphs Extra Strength tablets labelled 80 mg a tablet: “tddc found that each tablet contained 38 45 mg of 7 oh and 83 mg of mp”.[7]
- Opia tablets labelled 20 mg a tablet: “tddc found that each tablet contained 16 14 mg of 7 oh and 39 mg of mp”.[7]
- Press'd The Hulk Blend tablets labelled 30 mg: “tddc found that each tablet contained 7 56 mg of 7 oh and 8 80 mg of mp”.[7]
Against the labels, that is 92% of the stated 7-OH in the 7OHMZ tablet, 81% in the Opia tablet and 48% in the Smurphs tablet. The Press'd tablet held more pseudoindoxyl than 7-OH, and the shot's measured content was pseudoindoxyl. Every product held some. The petition expresses 7-OH as a share of all alkaloids, up to “7 oh makes up 96 of each tablet's alkaloid content”, against Texas's limit of two percent.[7]

Figure 8. The Opia card from the test purchase. The State's laboratory reports 16.14 mg of 7-OH in a tablet labelled 20 mg, with a trace of pseudoindoxyl. [7]
The Press'd card in the State's photograph is printed 7 Hydroxymitragynine and Red OH, Red OH being a name buyers use for pseudoindoxyl, and the order slip reproduced in the petition lists it as a 7-OH and pseudo tablet. The pseudoindoxyl in that product was on its card. The other four labels in the photographs name 7-OH only.

Figure 9. The Press'd card. The laboratory found more pseudoindoxyl than 7-OH; the card itself names Red OH beside 7-OH. [7]
Regulatory and legal
The Texas suit. On 2026-04-15 the State of Texas filed suit in Collin County district court, Cause No. 366-02536-2026, against the shop's company and Outcast Distribution.[7] The attorney general announced it on April 21: his office “filed a lawsuit against two california based online kratom retailers”.[46] Everything that follows is the State's allegation; the defendants' answer, if any, is not in the record we read. KERA wrote that it “has reached out to pure leaf kratom and outcast distribution for comment and will update this story with any response”.[47]

Figure 10. The attorney general's announcement, 2026-04-21. What it describes are allegations in a pending suit. [46]

Figure 11. The State's original petition, filed in Collin County on 2026-04-15. [7]
The State's case starts from the shop's own words. In the State's telling, “defendant pure leaf's website publicly represents it does not ship synthetic kratom products to texas”.[7] The archived shipping page says so. It begins “at pure leaf kratom we are committed to operating in full compliance with all federal state and local regulations”, and lists the states that get no synthetic product: “we are unable to ship synthetic or semi synthetic kratom products to arizona colorado georgia kentucky maryland mississippi nebraska nevada oklahoma rhode island south carolina south dakota tennessee texas and utah”.[48] A second rule bars “products containing more than 2 of total alkaloid content in 7 hydroxymitragynine” from the same states.[48] The notice was on the page by October 2025[49] and not in July 2025.[11]

Figure 12. The shipping page on 2026-02-01, a month before Texas's test purchase. Texas is on the list of states that receive no synthetic or semi-synthetic product. [48]
The State then bought. “On march 4 2026 the division purchased kratom products from pure leaf kratom for” delivery to Plano, and “the products were delivered to that texas address on march 11 2026”.[7] The attorney general's release summarises the laboratory: products “contained 7 oh levels ranging from 86 to 96 of total alkaloid content”, and the shop's representations were false: “although the defendants' website claims they do not ship synthetic kratom products or products containing more than 2 7 oh to texas the investigation determined those representations are false”.[46]

Figure 13. The petition sets the store's own shipping notice beside the State's test purchase, which it says arrived in Plano on 2026-03-11. [7]
The State pleads violations of three laws. Under Texas's kratom act, as the petition sets it out, a retailer may not sell a product that “contains a level of 7 hydroxymitragynine in the alkaloid fraction that is greater than two percent of the overall alkaloid composition of the product”, or one that “contains any synthetic alkaloids including synthetic 7 hydroxymitragynine and synthetically derived compounds from a kratom plant”.[7] Under the Deceptive Trade Practices Act it pleads, among other things, the defendants’ “failure to disclose the presence of synthetic or semisynthetic mitragynine pseudoindoxyl”.[7] And it alleges that “neither defendant pure leaf kratom llc nor outcast distribution llc have registered as foreign entities”.[7] It asks the court to “impose injunctive relief prohibiting defendants from preparing distributing selling or offering to sell kratom products in the state of texas”, with civil penalties.[7] The attorney general's statement: “i will not allow california based companies to illegally ship their potentially deadly substances into texas”.[46]
By the shop's own account to a buyer, it had already stopped shipping 7-OH to Texas in October 2025, months before the State's purchase.[34] The petition says the purchase was delivered in March 2026. The two accounts differ, and the court record is where they will be tested.
The DEA. Two DEA scheduling documents cite listings on this shop as examples of how pseudoindoxyl is marketed. The temporary order of 2026-08-26 that put pseudoindoxyl and MGM-15 in Schedule I describes claims of calm and clarity and says “this marketing encourages individuals with legitimate medical needs to utilize potent unlawful opioids as self treatment”.[18] Its footnote 30 reads: “see dozo perks extremely potent pseudoindoxyl chewable tablet grape 100mg per tablet https pureleafkratom com products dozo perks 100mg pseudoindoxyl grape chewable tablets 4ct html accessed january 2026”.[18] A second footnote, on rapid onset, cites the shop's Kama page: “and pure leaf kratom https pureleafkratom com kama kratom accessed march 2026 web content subsequently modified or removed hardcopy preserved in dea administrative record”.[18]

Figure 14. The DEA's scheduling order of 2026-08-26. Footnote 30, bottom left, is a Dozo Perks pseudoindoxyl listing on this store. [18]
The DEA repeats both citations in the notice that “is issuing this notice of intent to publish a temporary order to schedule 7 hydroxymitragynine and mitragynine pseudoindoxyl” above a threshold, filed for public inspection and set for publication on 2026-10-14.[50] That notice's footnotes read “see dozo perks extremely potent pseudoindoxyl chewable tablet grape 100mg per tablet https pureleafkratom com products dozo perks 100mg pseudoindoxyl grape chewable tablets 4ct html accessed january 2026” and “and pure leaf kratom https pureleafkratom com kama kratom accessed march 2026”.[50] Being cited is not a charge; the shop is not a party to either document.
The FDA. A search of the FDA's warning-letter index on 2026-10-12 for “pure leaf kratom”, “pureleafkratom” and “outcast distribution” returned no letter to either company.[51]
Age. The site's age check is a one-click box: “by clicking enter i certify that i am over the age of 21”.[5] A 20-year-old buyer wrote in January 2025 that the site “just asked to verify age by clicking yes”.[52] The footer lists the states and counties it does not ship to: “this product is not available for shipment to the following states alabama arkansas indiana rhode island wisconsin”, followed by counties.[5]
Still open
How the Texas case stands. The petition asked for a temporary restraining order and injunction. Whether either was granted, whether the companies answered, or whether the case settled is not in the record we read; Collin County's case search for cause 366-02536-2026 is the place to look.
Who owns Pure Leaf Kratom, LLC and Outcast Distribution, LLC. The site names neither, and the domain record shows no registrant. The California Secretary of State's business search, under both names, is the next place to look.
Who runs amsterdamsmoke.shop, the second shop at the Signal Hill suite.
What the MGM page sold after 2026-08-26. The April capture lists MGM-15 tablets; later captures of the page were not read.
Whether any card buyers called counterfeit was. No buyer posted a laboratory result for one.
