Who they say they are, and what the record says
The brand is Tre House, written TRĒ House on its packs. The company behind it is TRE Wellness LLC, organised in California. Its trademark filings give the owner as “TRE Wellness LLC” at “19851 Nordhoff Place, Ste 105, Chatsworth, California”, and the first was filed on 2022-01-05.[3] The website's footer in 2025 reads “© 2025 TRE Wellness LLC / TRE House. All rights reserved”.[21] The California Department of Public Health names “the brand owner, TRE House in Chatsworth, California” and says it is also investigating “their contract manufacturers”.[18] The state's business registry was not searched, so the company's formation date, officers and registered agent are not given here.
The domain is older than the company. trehouse.com was registered in 2002,[1] and in 2004 it was a parked page of travel links (“whether you're looking for advice on Asia hotel reservation”).[2] The archive holds nothing from the brand before 2022.
The brand describes its own beginnings in two ways. In 2022 the About page said “Tre House is on a mission to create the best recreational delta products imaginable” and “Tre House was founded by experts from the cannabis, CBD and vape world”. It set itself against the rest of the trade: “would you rather puff on a vape that some bootleg brand bought” wholesale, as it put it, “behind a bowling alley”.[22] By 2026 the page read “founded in 2022, TRE House is a U.S.-based company” selling hemp and mushroom products, promised an experience that is “super psychotropic”, and claimed that “TRE House has become the most popular legal THC and magic mushroom brand in the country”.[23] We have no sales figures to test that claim against.
What they sell
Hemp cannabinoids, from the start. The first archived storefront, in January 2022, sold blends of hemp-derived cannabinoids: “whether you want to experience D8 with D9 or THC-O with D10, our gummies have you covered”. Every listing was a pre-order, for example “HHC Gummies High Potency $39.99 Pre-Order”, and the page footer said “2018 Farm Bill compliant”.[4] By 2023 THC-P had replaced THC-O: “Delta 8 Gummies with HHC + THC-P”.[5] Later came THCA vapes and prerolls, syrups, rolling papers and clothing. Cannabinoid buyers' views were mixed from the start. In February 2023 one wrote of the gummies that “they were good most the time”.[24]
“Magic mushroom” chocolate, gummies, vapes and syrup, from July 2023. The chocolate bar's page, archived on 2023-08-01, said: “our proprietary blend of mushroom extracts includes a combination of nootropics, adaptogens and a pre-blend of tryptamines”. It explained the effect as “a proprietary blend of liposomes and nootropics that activate the same receptors in the brain as traditional psychedelic mushrooms”, and listed the “active” ingredients ending in “mimosa hostilis root, phenylethylamine hydrochloride, cyanocobalamin (B12), cholecalciferol (D3)”, after 5-HTP, rhodiola and lion's mane. It answered its own question: “Do these chocolate bars contain psilocybin mushrooms or Amanita muscaria? No.” The dose guide ended at “7 squares: table for one on Mars”.[6]

Figure 2. The first mushroom product, as the chocolate bar's page showed it on 1 August 2023: a 'microdose chocolate bar' of 'magic mushroom blend', 15 squares, 'handmade in Los Angeles'. The page sold it with 'a pre-blend of tryptamines'. [6]
The gummies followed in October 2023, “15 chewy mind-melting gummies per pack”, made by “combining nootropics and adaptogens with a pre-blend of tryptamines”, again with “Do mushroom gummies contain psilocybin mushrooms or Amanita muscaria? No.”[7] The vape pens of March 2024 were “made with our unique proprietary blend of adaptogens, nootropics and a pre-blend of tryptamines”, with “2g of highly potent magic mushroom vape juice per pen”.[9] The syrup was a “combo of nootropic and adaptogenic shrooms plus a pre-blend of tryptamines”.[10]

Figure 3. The gummy pouch on the product page, 1 October 2023: 'Magic Mushroom Gummies', 15 round gummies, marked microdose and 21+. Its barcode, 810135370127, is the one California listed for Strawberry Dream in December 2025. [7]
The pages never named a tryptamine or gave an amount. A buyer wrote in May 2024 that the brand “has no active ingredient list anywhere on the website”.[25] The phrase “pre-blend of tryptamines” was on the gummy page in December 2023 and gone by August 2024, when the same sentence ended “combining nootropics and adaptogens with a proprietary blend of mushroom extracts”.[11] None of the label's ingredients explains a psychedelic effect: the DMT in mimosa root bark is inactive when swallowed unless an MAO inhibitor is taken with it. Every independent test described below found a synthetic tryptamine.
The 2025 reformulation. By 2025-12-09 the gummy page advertised a new Extra Strength “formula, now 50% stronger” and “10 gummies per pack”, down from 15. The product's barcode changed from 810135370127 earlier in the year[14] to 810205400006.[17] The active ingredient now had a name, Neurotonin, described as “our proprietary active compound blend formulated to deliver the classic mushroom experience while being entirely free from restricted ingredients”, beside turkey tail, lion's mane, cordyceps and chaga. The word Magic was gone from the pouch. The FAQ named the compounds it said were absent: “our mushroom gummies do not contain psilocybin, psilocin, psilacetin, 4-AcO-DMT, 4-hydroxy-DET, 4-acetoxy-DET or Amanita muscaria”.[17] TRE Wellness had applied for the NEUROTONIN mark in August 2025, for “fungal extracts sold as a component ingredient of nutritional supplements and vitamins”.[16] The new chocolate page said the blend “gives you all the classic feels of traditional shrooms without the legal hassle or tummy troubles”.[26]

Figure 4. The same flavour on 9 December 2025, two days before the state's warning: 'Extra Strength', '50% stronger', 10 square gummies instead of 15, and the word 'Magic' gone from the pouch. [17]
In May 2026 a buyer posted a new product, Ferris Wheel, whose pack, the buyer wrote, lists “kanna extract, caffeine, black pepper extract, L-theanine”.[27] We found no test of it.
7-OH tablets, from July 2025. Under the name Bars the brand sold 7-hydroxymitragynine tablets, one of them “30mg 7-hydroxy per tablet, 10mg pseudoindoxyl per tablet”, called 7-OH “the hottest product on the market right now”, and printed “100% legal, good time guaranteed”.[15] FDA calls concentrated 7-OH “an opioid that can be more potent than morphine” and says “7-OH is not lawful in dietary supplements”.[28] The DEA placed “mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, MGM-15, and MGM-16” in Schedule I by a temporary order: “this temporary order is effective August 26, 2026 until August 26, 2028”.[29]

Figure 5. July 2025: Bars, the brand's 7-OH tablets. This card reads '30mg 7-hydroxy + 10mg pseudo' a tablet; the DEA placed mitragynine pseudoindoxyl in Schedule I in August 2026. [15]
What is in the mushroom products
This is the question the brand's labels do not answer. Four sets of results exist, from three laboratories, and they cover three formulas.
2023: 4-AcO-DMT. On 2023-12-19 Allomics Labs, a brand of Tryptomics of Longmont, Colorado, tested a Sour Tropical gummy pack and a Churro Milk chocolate bar for a client listed as Good Citizen. The gummies held 1.705 mg of 4-AcO-DMT a gummy, 26.62 mg of tested actives in the pack of 15. The chocolate held 0.466 mg a square, 8.19 mg a bar. Both showed a trace of psilocin (0.069 and 0.052 mg a serving), which is what 4-AcO-DMT breaks down into. The certificates were published by HappyPicForMe, a seller of psilocybin mushroom products, which says “the lab tests presented were provided by the community member for informational purposes only” and names the lab: “independent testing company that produced these results: Tryptomics.com”.[8] A competitor publishing a rival's test has a motive. The result has since been matched by the state's.

Figure 6. Tryptomics' test of the Sour Tropical gummies, 19 December 2023, commissioned by a buyer: 1.705 mg of 4-AcO-DMT a gummy, 26.62 mg of tested actives a pack, and a trace of psilocin. [8]

Figure 7. The same lab, the same day, the Churro Milk bar: 0.466 mg of 4-AcO-DMT a square, 8.19 mg of tested actives a bar. [8]
The results reached Reddit in March 2024 with the poster's words: “They are lying on their website with their lab tests”.[30] The poster added a month later, “Those results were different to what Tre house officially posted on their website”.[31] A defender answered that “Tryptomics is an unlicensed lab as stated on their site”.[32] Tryptomics prints the same on every certificate: it is not licensed by the State of Colorado. In 2025 buyers were still telling the old packs from the new by that test, which they said “confirmed 1.7mg in one 4acodmt from a lab test”.[33]
2024: the brand's own certificates. The lab-reports page says “our products have been authenticated by reputable 3rd party laboratories” and lists a report for each product, among them “Mushroom Gummies Sour Cherry”.[34] Two of those certificates, from PharmLabs San Diego, a lab with a California cannabis licence and ISO 17025 accreditation, were tested for Tre House. The Sour Cherry sample was received 2024-09-04 and the Sour Grape sample 2024-11-04. Each ran a 4-AcO tryptamine panel, an Amanita panel and a psilocybin panel. Every row reads ND, not detected, including psilacetin (4-AcO-DMT) and “4-Acetoxy-DET (4ADE) 0.004 0.011 ND ND ND ND”.[12] KQED reported that the brand's posted reports, “from as recently as Dec. 8”, “say no psilocin and psilocybin, another illegal psychedelic, were detected in mushroom gummies, syrups, chocolates and vapes”.[35]

Figure 8. The brand's own certificate, PharmLabs San Diego, 9 September 2024: not detected for psilacetin (4-AcO-DMT), 4-AcO-DET, psilocin and muscimol. California's laboratory found 4-AcO-DET in every product it tested a year later. [12]
2025: California's laboratory. On 2025-12-11 the California Department of Public Health announced that seven Tre House products, three chocolate bars, three gummy flavours and the strawberry gelato syrup, “were laboratory tested and determined to be adulterated”. Its finding: “all of the products contain 4-Acetoxy-DET (4-Acetoxy-N,N-diethyltryptamine) while most also contain 4-Acetoxy-DMT (4-Acetoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine)”.[18] The seven barcodes all begin 810135, the prefix of the packs sold before the Extra Strength change. The Strawberry Dream barcode on the state's list, 810135370127, is the one the brand's own page gave that flavour from 2023 to March 2025.[7][14] The state did not publish lot numbers or amounts, and said “this warning applies to all products regardless of lot numbers or date information on packaging”.
So on the same analytes, for the same product lines, the brand's certificates say none and the state's laboratory says all. The samples were taken about a year apart, and the state names contract manufacturers, so a change of formula between the two is possible. The brand's FAQ in December 2025, by contrast, listed 4-AcO-DMT and 4-acetoxy-DET by name as compounds its gummies do not contain.[17] KQED reported that the brand “did not immediately respond to a request for comment”.[35]

Figure 9. California's warning, 11 December 2025: 4-AcO-DET in every product tested, 4-AcO-DMT in most, more than 1,000 lb of gummies embargoed and destroyed. [18]
2026: 4-HO-EPT in the Extra Strength gummies, 4-propanoyloxy-MET in the vape. Two certificates from Tryptomics were commissioned for testmyshroomgummies.com, a testing site promoted in r/mysterymagicmushrooms. The post says Advanced Mycology, which sells its own tryptamine products under the XÜM and PLÜR names, is the sponsor “who paid for the lab testing”.[19] That is a competitor paying to test a rival, and the posts say so.
The Extra Strength Sour Cherry gummies, received 2026-04-10, held one analyte, 4-HO-EPT (4-hydroxy-N-ethyl-N-propyltryptamine), at 0.896 mg a gummy and 8.96 mg a pack of 10. Everything else on a 13-compound panel was not detected, 4-AcO-DET and 4-AcO-DMT among them. “So the test shows that they currently use 4-ho-ept,” the poster wrote, and “9mg total is incredibly weak”.[19] 4-HO-EPT is a little-studied psilocin analogue.

Figure 10. After the warning: Tryptomics, 20 April 2026, Extra Strength gummies. One analyte, 4-HO-EPT, 8.96 mg a pack. The test was paid for by Advanced Mycology, a competitor. [19]
The Blue Jello vape, received 2026-09-17, held 23.479 mg/g of 4-propanoyloxy-MET and 0.717 mg/g of 4-HO-MET. “The primary active is 4promet,” the same poster wrote, adding “there is about 24mg total in the vape”.[20] The certificate gives milligrams per gram of liquid, not per device. The 2024 listing gave the fill as 2 g a pen.[9] If the 2026 pen holds the same, it would carry about 47 mg of 4-propanoyloxy-MET, but no fill weight is printed on the certificate.

Figure 11. The vape, 24 September 2026: 23.479 mg/g of 4-propanoyloxy-MET and 0.717 mg/g of 4-HO-MET. The figures are per gram of liquid, not per device. [20]
What the record does not show. No test of any Tre House mushroom product found psilocybin, muscimol, or the mimosa-derived DMT the label implied. No test we found measured the 2025 square gummies before the Extra Strength change. Reddit posts refer to “a drive with all the lab reports from 2023”[36] and to a second chocolate test. We have not read either.
Context, and what it does not show. In June 2024 FDA began investigating illnesses linked to Diamond Shruumz mushroom candy. By November it counted hospitalisations in which “73 people have been hospitalized and there are three (3) potentially associated deaths”, and reported that “psilacetin was found in nine (9) chocolate bar samples” of that brand. It also counted “118 total number of cases among people who reportedly ate a mushroom chocolate bar of an unspecified brand”.[37] FDA's page does not name Tre House, and neither does CDC's July 2024 report on “analysis of contents of five brands of mushroom gummies marketed as nootropics”.[38] Nothing we found ties Tre House to the Diamond Shruumz products or to their maker, Prophet Premium Blends. We cite these documents for what was on the market at the same time, and for nothing more.
We found nothing to show that Tre House was the first to sell a synthetic tryptamine as mushroom candy. Four months after its bar appeared, a buyer asked whether its bars were “4 aco dmt or are they legit”, and a reply said of shop-bought mushroom bars in general: “The vast, vast majority are.”[39]
What buyers report
Method. On 2026-10-07 we searched thirteen subreddits held in our local archive of Reddit (r/mysterymagicmushrooms from 2025-01-02, the others from 2024),[40] and searched Arctic Shift for “tre house” in r/shrooms, r/Psychonaut, r/Delta8, r/microdosing, r/researchchemicals and r/AmanitaMuscaria, and for “trehouse” in r/4acodmt.[41] After duplicates were removed there were 449 posts naming the brand: 5 from 2022, 8 from 2023, 119 from 2024, 221 from 2025 and 96 from 2026 to date. 232 are in r/mysterymagicmushrooms, 103 in r/shrooms and 33 in r/4acodmt. We screened all 449 by keyword and read those that matched by hand. Counts are of posts, not people. r/mysterymagicmushrooms is sponsored by Advanced Mycology, a competitor; see that dossier.
What is in it. The largest group of posts asks this. In September 2023 a buyer asked what was in the “proprietary mushroom extract blend”.[42] From late 2023 the community's working answer was 4-AcO-DMT. After the state's warning a December 2025 post summarised it: “the state of California said their products were 4-aco-dmt and 4-aco-det”.[43]
A changed formula. 55 posts match words for a weaker product or a changed formula. In early 2025 a commenter wrote that “all new packages have square gummies that are larger”.[13] The Extra Strength packs of 2026 drew the same complaint.[19]
Adverse effects: 8 posts describe a bad reaction to a Tre House product. A buyer who ate a whole chocolate bar in May 2025 described “severe groin pain” and painful, frequent urination.[44] A January 2026 post recalled a bar eaten in July 2024: “It took 3 days to feel normal.”[45] An August 2026 post listed “shortness of breath”, body spasms and vomiting after the poster and a husband shared a bar.[46] From the cannabinoid side, a 2024 buyer of a delta-8, HHC and THC-P gummy wrote, of half a gummy, “That half caused me to be high for 48 hours”.[47] None of these posts cites a test of the product eaten. The state reported that “no illnesses have yet been reported” to it.[18]
Orders. Many buyers describe buying in smoke shops. One post describes an online order filled with the wrong product: “sent me HHC instead”.[48] We found no post describing an order that did not arrive.
Allegations: who says what, why, and what we could check
“Lies on their COAs.” A 2024 commenter in r/altcannabinoids wrote that the brand “lies on their COAs” and under-doses.[47] The commenter was recommending five other cannabinoid brands, gave no certificate, and the claim is about the cannabinoid line. We could not check it.
“Lying on their website with their lab tests.” The 2024 poster of the Tryptomics results said the brand was “lying on their website with their lab tests”.[30] The poster wrote “I AM NOT AFFILIATED”;[31] the article that first carried the results was published by a seller of psilocybin products.[8] What we could check: the brand's 2024 certificates report no 4-AcO-DMT and no 4-AcO-DET;[12] the state's laboratory found 4-AcO-DET in every product it tested and 4-AcO-DMT in most.[18] We draw no conclusion about how the brand's certificates came to read as they do. A lab tests what it is sent.
“Raided.” Commenters in 2026 wrote that the brand “got raided”.[19] The record we found shows an embargo, a voluntary destruction of more than 1,000 lb of gummies, and an open investigation with possible “civil or criminal penalties”.[18] We found no raid and no arrest.
A card-network ban. In February 2026 a poster who said they worked in payment processing reproduced a notice that “all TRE House mushroom products cannot be sold through the MasterCard network effective immediately”.[49] We could not confirm the notice with Mastercard or a processor.
If you work in this trade, bought these products, or hold a certificate for them, rate Tre House below or add what you know in the thread at the foot of this page.
Payment and checkout
A July 2026 post describes a paid add-on, Checkout+, that the poster says was put in the cart without being chosen and came back after it was removed, and that “the price increases as you add more items”.[50] One post is not a pattern. The Mastercard notice above, if genuine, would affect how the brand's products can be paid for.
Regulatory and legal
The California Department of Public Health's warning of 2025-12-11 is the main action on record. It found the products adulterated, said “more than 1,000 pounds of TRE House brand gummies were embargoed and subsequently voluntarily destroyed”, and said “the parties responsible may be subject to further enforcement action, including civil or criminal penalties”.[18] By March 2025 the brand's gummy page already listed California among the places it would not ship to: “does not ship to the following states: AL, CA, DC, MN, NC, ND, VT”.[14] The state's notice says the products were sold to smoke shops and that distribution “throughout California and into other states is likely”.
An FDA site search for “Tre House” on 2026-10-07 found no warning letter or other action.[51] A CourtListener search of federal dockets the same day found no case naming TRE Wellness or the brand's mushroom products.[52]
The mushroom pages carried the hemp line's footer, “2018 Farm Bill compliant”, as late as December 2025.[26] The Farm Bill concerns hemp. It says nothing about tryptamines. California's warning calls what it found “an analogue of psilocin, a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Schedule I drug” and both compounds “illegal psychedelics”.[18] The 7-OH tablets were sold as “100% legal”.[15]
Age: the site asks visitors to “please confirm that you are 21 years of age or older: yes / no”.[21] We found no ID check.
Still open
The California Secretary of State's record for TRE Wellness LLC: formation date, officers, registered agent. Who the contract manufacturers named by the state are. Whether the state's investigation has led to any further action; a search of its news releases to 2026-10-07 found none. Which laboratory, if any, tested the 2025 square-gummy formula before the Extra Strength change. What Neurotonin is: the trademark filing describes fungal extracts, and the one test of a Neurotonin product found 4-HO-EPT.
