The long read
In January 2011 a small website at china-shun.com offered synthetic cannabinoids and other research chemicals from Nanjing. It gave its name as "Nanjing SH international trading Co., LTD" and its address as "No.22 Daqiao North Road".[1][2] It had two menus, a JWH Series and a Methylone Series, sixteen products in all.[3][4] The Internet Archive saved seventeen of its pages, every one between January 10 and January 12, 2011.[5] That is the whole of the public record of the shop, and this dossier is built from it.
The owner of this site imported research chemicals from China in those years and kept this seller in his contacts. His record is described below, as his. A second Nanjing website of the same years, kk-pu.com, has its own dossier. Nothing we found ties the two.

Figure 1. The first archived page, January 10, 2011. Two menus, JWH Series and Methylone Series, and the company's name and street address in Nanjing. The archive never stored the site's pictures. We blacked out a mobile number and two personal addresses. [2]
Who they said they were, and what the record says
The name is the company's own, from its contact page: "Nanjing SH international trading Co., LTD", at "Bridge North Road 22".[1] The sidebar on every other page gives the same street as "No.22 Daqiao North Road", Nanjing, Jiangsu.[2] The footer reads "2010-2011 Nanjing SH international trading Co., LTD. All rights reserved".[2] No page names a person, a registration number or a business licence. For contact the site gave a mobile number, an MSN address and a Yahoo China address. Those three point to a private person, and we do not print them.

Figure 2. The contact page. A company name, a street and the website, then a mobile number and two free email services, which we blacked out. The owner of this site kept these same details in his contacts. [1]
The About page is eight short sentences about chemistry and service. "We are a professional team with rich research & development and marketing abilities." "We have developed new production process for pharmaceutical intermediates." "We have strict quality control system and quality guarantee system." It closes with "We hope to receive your orders."[6] It names no product.

Figure 3. The About page, January 12, 2011. It describes a maker of pharmaceutical intermediates and names no product, no person and no registration. [6]
A counter in the corner read "You are 41700 guests" on January 10 and "You are 41961 guests" two days later.[2][6] The site does not say what it counted.
The owner of this site has his own record of the seller. On October 11, 2026 he shared the contact he had saved for it, under the handle shunshun. It gives the company's name, the Daqiao North Road address and the website china-shun.com, along with a mobile number, a messenger address and email addresses. Apart from the Skype name, every detail in it matches the archived contact page.[1] It is the owner's record, kept privately, and we have no other document that ties the handle to a person.
We searched for the company. Its name, the domain and the two email handles are not on the US Treasury's sanctions lists, as downloaded on October 11, 2026. Searches for Justice Department and DEA releases and indictments under those names found nothing. China's company registry was not searched.
The domain did not stay with the shop. The archive got a 404 from china-shun.com in May 2013.[5] In 2017 the address belonged to "SHANGHAI SHUNHAO", a Russian-language agent for businesses buying goods in China, whose contact page gave an office in "Zhejiang province, Yiwu City", in the "Yiwu international Business Center".[7][8] Its phone and Skype details have nothing in common with the 2011 site. In November 2020 the archive caught pages of an unrelated video site on the domain.[9] On October 11, 2026 the .com registry had no record of china-shun.com at all.[10] Nothing on the domain after 2011 is attributed to Nanjing SH International Trading here.

Figure 4. The same domain in February 2017: SHANGHAI SHUNHAO, a Russian-language agent for buying goods in China. A different business with different contacts. We blacked out its phone number and cropped off a stock photograph. [7]

Figure 5. SHUNHAO's contact page, April 2017: an office in Yiwu, Zhejiang, not Nanjing. Nothing on it matches the 2011 site. [8]
What it sold
The JWH Series listed eight synthetic cannabinoids: "jwh-019 jwh-210 jwh-251 jwh-081 AM694 jwh-250 jwh-073 AM-2201".[3] They are the compounds in the JWH-019, JWH-210, JWH-251, JWH-081, AM-694, JWH-250, JWH-073 and AM-2201 pages here.

Figure 6. The JWH Series, eight synthetic cannabinoids. JWH-073 went into Schedule I seven weeks later; six more of the eight were named in the 2012 federal law. [3]
The Methylone Series listed "5-iai 2C-E 2C-I 5-MEO butylone MDPV NRG-1 Methylone".[4] Despite the heading, only three of the eight are cathinones of methylone's kind: methylone, butylone and MDPV. 5-IAI is an aminoindane. 2C-E and 2C-I are psychedelic phenethylamines. The product page for 5-MEO identifies it as "5-Methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine", 5-MeO-DMT, with "CAS No.: 1019-45-0".[11] NRG-1 is a trade name. The site's page for it was not archived, and the list does not say what compound it was.

Figure 7. The Methylone Series. Only three of its eight names are cathinones like methylone. The others are an aminoindane, two 2C phenethylamines, a tryptamine and a trade name, NRG-1. [4]
Eight of the sixteen product pages are in the archive. They read like a chemical supplier's data sheets. The JWH-019 page gives a formal name, "(1-hexyl-1H-indol-3-yl)-1-naphthalenyl-methanone", a CAS number and "Formulation A crystalline solid".[12] The 2C-I page claims "Purity: Over 99%, The highest purity" and sets a minimum: "Order from 5g".[13] That is the only order quantity on any archived page. No price list, payment page or shipping page was archived, and the News page had no entries.

Figure 8. A product page in the style of a chemical supplier's data sheet: name, CAS number, formula, and a purity of more than 99 percent, with no certificate behind the number. [12]

Figure 9. 2C-I, offered at more than 99 percent purity with a minimum order of five grams. The only order quantity on any archived page. [13]
Some pages go past the data sheet. "JWH-210 is an analgesic chemical from the naphthoylindole family", its page says, before giving binding figures at the two cannabinoid receptors.[14] The 5-IAI page reads, in full, "5-Iodo-2-aminoindane (5-IAI) is a drug which acts as a releasing agent of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine".[15] Neither page names a study.

Figure 10. JWH-210, described as an analgesic chemical, with receptor-binding figures. No study is named. [14]

Figure 11. 5-IAI, the first item in the Methylone Series. The site calls it a drug and says what it does in the brain. [15]
The menu names overlap with kk-pu.com, the other Nanjing site, whose 2010 menu had a "Methylone (BK-MDMA) Series" and gave its address as "Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, China".[16] The two sites share no address, phone, email or designer. A shared city and similar menu names do not make a connection, and we do not claim one.
What buyers report
We found no buyer who names this seller in public. Searches of Reddit through the Arctic Shift archive for china-shun and shunshun, in r/RCSources and r/researchchemicals, returned no posts. Neither name appears in the local copies of 37 subreddits that this site keeps, r/researchchemicals among them. The owner of this site has written 16,295 comments and 1,291 posts on Reddit since 2010; none of them contains shunshun or china-shun.
The owner's public account of those years is about China in general. He wrote in 2019 that he was "importing it by the boat load from Nanjing and Shanghai."[17] In his 2016 AMA he said the parcels came "technically as a car wash foam, as that is what it was sent as from China".[18] And in 2017: "I was indicted for importing bk-mdma to the United States from China on October 11, 2011."[19] The deep dive on not for human consumption labels tells that story. None of these comments names a supplier, so none of them is evidence about this one.
Lab results
None of the seventeen archived pages carries a certificate of analysis or names a laboratory. The purity figures, more than 99 percent on the JWH-019, 2C-I and 5-MeO-DMT pages, are the site's own claims.[12][13][11] Nothing on this site's lab-results pages concerns a product from this seller.
Regulatory and legal
We found no action against the company under its name, its domain or its email handles, in the searches listed above. The products have a record of their own, and the dates fall close to the captures.
On December 20, 2010 the DEA published a final rule that "places the substance 5-methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine (5-MeO-DMT)" in Schedule I. It carried the line "Effective Date: January 19, 2011".[20] The site's 5-MeO-DMT page was archived on January 12, seven days before.[11]

Figure 12. 5-MeO-DMT on January 12, 2011. A federal rule placing it in Schedule I took effect seven days later. [11]

Figure 13. The DEA's final rule, published December 20, 2010, three weeks before the capture above. Effective January 19, 2011. [20]
On March 1, 2011 a temporary order placed five synthetic cannabinoids in Schedule I, among them "1-butyl-3-(1-naphthoyl)indole (JWH-073)", with "Effective Date: March 1, 2011".[21] JWH-073 was on the JWH Series list seven weeks earlier.[3] A second temporary order covered "3,4-methylenedioxy-N-methylcathinone (methylone)" and MDPV: "This Final Order is effective on October 21, 2011."[22]
Then Congress acted. "On July 9, 2012, the President signed into law the Synthetic Drug Abuse Prevention Act of 2012 (SDAPA)." A DEA rule of January 2013, which gave the new substances their drug codes, sums it up: "SDAPA amends the Controlled Substances Act by placing 26 substances in schedule I."[23] Nine names on this site's lists are among the 26: JWH-019, JWH-073, JWH-081, JWH-250, AM-694, AM-2201, 2C-E, 2C-I and MDPV.[23][3][4]
No archived page says anything about the legal status of what it sold, or where it would ship. There was no age check on any page.[2]

Figure 14. What the record shows, drawn by us from the sources in this dossier. The two orange entries are the owner's own account. [5]
