  • Is there an identifiable legal operator: a registered name, a jurisdiction, an address that resolves?

the companies and their two owners are named in the state's assurances; the sites gave a Flower Mound, Texas suite that Colorado says was not where the business operated, and still did in August 2026

    Evidence: [10][11][6][13][12]

  • How long has it operated, by evidence: first archive capture, domain registration, oldest attributable post?

domain November 2020, archive from November 2021, still selling October 2026

    Evidence: [8][9][4][19]

  • Does it publish third-party certificates of analysis for what it sells?

certificates posted per product, many as Google Drive links; Colorado says THCA products kept being tested at labs the state does not certify

    Evidence: [15][27][10]

  • Where there are results, do they agree with the label, the marketing and the reported effects?

the October 2022 certificate for THCA diamonds found CBD and no THCA; a 2024 buyer found delta-8 on the certificate for delta-9 gummies

    Evidence: [27][26][29]

  • Are contents and amounts stated on the product?

'organic' on products the company could not verify, until the May 2025 settlement

    Evidence: [10][3][15]

  • No disease claims, no 'safe', no borrowed botanical names for synthetic compounds?

the state found unsupported health claims and claims of making what it bought; 'the largest global supplier of cannabinoids' with no figure; free product to reviewers in the launch months

    Evidence: [3][6][23][22]

  • Pattern of complaints about orders not arriving, long delays, no tracking?

    fast shipping praised from 2021 to 2026; non-shipment and no-reply posts from 2024, a handful a quarter

    Evidence: [38][39][21][36]

  • Pattern of complaints about wrong, inert, contaminated or mislabelled product?

more than a dozen posts from 2022 to 2026 about particles, solvent smells or a product not being what it was sold as; none backed by an independent test

    Evidence: [30][1][31][33][34][25][28]

  • Chargebacks refused, refunds unanswered, processors dropped?

one removed 2024 post says a paid order was edited and an item kept; nothing else found

    Evidence: [41]

  • Warning letters, seizures, lawsuits, attorney-general actions, platform bans?

two assurances of discontinuance with Colorado's attorney general, May 2025 and January 2026, $125,000 paid or payable and $700,000 suspended between them

    Evidence: [42][10][3][43]

  • Is there any attempt to keep minors out?

    a one-button 21+ gate in 2022 and 2026; the 2025 settlement required an age-verification system

    Evidence: [54][3][53]

  • Does it say what the legal status of what it sells is, honestly, where it ships?

'no sales in colorado' and per-product state exclusions after 2025; the state says the site first claimed only some Colorado cities were off-limits

The long read

Who they say they are, and what the record says

If you bought a jar of HHC, delta-8 or THCA distillate online between 2021 and 2026, there is a fair chance it passed through a company you have never heard of. MC Nutraceuticals sells cannabinoids by the kilogram to the brands that put them in vapes and gummies. Its retail shop, Vivimu, sells the same kinds of jar by the gram to people who mix their own. Hobbyists knew the connection. In 2024 one wrote that "vivimu is the retail wing of mc nutraceuticals"; another, buying a cheap THCA resin, called MC "the vivimu suppliers".[1][2] Colorado's attorney general put it in writing in 2025: MC Global Holdings, the parent, is "the company which does business under the brand vivimu and its associated website sells hemp extracts and finished hemp products to other hemp product manufacturers and directly to consumers".[3]

The company describes itself in large type. In November 2021 the wholesale site was "the 1 leader in delivery and innovation of wholesale hemp derived cannabinoids" and "your one stop shop for all hemp derived cannabinoids".[4] By 2023 it was "the largest global supplier of cannabinoids", and it still was in August 2026.[5][6] No page gives a figure for that. The closest the company has come is in a federal complaint it filed in 2025, where it called itself "the national industry leader in bulk cannabinoids" and said "mc grossed 12 million 24 million and 48 million in 2022 2023 and 2024 respectively".[7] Those are its own numbers, sworn to in a verified complaint, and nobody has tested them.

The MC Nutraceuticals home page in November 2021: a gold and grey MC logo, the line The #1 Leader in Delivery and Innovation of Wholesale Hemp Derived Cannabinoids, a large headline Your One Stop Shop For All Hemp-Derived Cannabinoids, and a photo of clear oil pouring into a lab jar.
Figure 1. November 2021, the first archived capture of the wholesale site: "your one stop shop for all hemp derived cannabinoids". The company was a year old. [4]

The domain mcnutraceuticals.com was registered on 2020-11-02, and vivimu.com on 2021-09-20.[8][9] In its complaint MC says that "Jeff and Bret Worley, a father and son team", "founded mc nutraceuticals in 2020".[7] Colorado's assurances name them in role: Bret Worley "is the founder co owner and chief executive officer of mc global holdings llc", and Jeff Worley "is the co owner and chief financial officer of mc global holdings llc".[10] The 2023 About page says MC Nutraceuticals is "a subsidiary of mc global holdings", outsources white labelling "through our partner network", and pictures "bret worley chief executive officer".[11]

The MC Nutraceuticals About Us page in December 2023, headed Our Commitment to the Community, saying the company is a subsidiary of MC Global Holdings and outsources white labeling through a partner network, with a black and white portrait captioned Bret Worley, Chief Executive Officer.
Figure 2. The About page, December 2023: a subsidiary of MC Global Holdings, white labelling "through our partner network", and the chief executive, as the company presented him. [11]

The group is a set of LLCs. The assurances list MC Global Holdings, MC Nutraceuticals PLLC, MC Distribution LLC and MC Vivimus LLC, which runs the retail site, with MC Botanicals LLC added in the second.[10] In court a former partner adds two more: an MC Nutraceuticals LLC in Texas, "organized under the laws of the texas on october 5 2020", and another in Colorado.[12] The second Colorado settlement forbids the group from dodging it through "such as the use of any alternate spellings or change in the classification or type of entity".[10] The state had seen the shapes before.

Where it is. This is the first contested fact. Both websites gave a Texas address: "6101 long prairie rd suite 744 flower mound tx 75028" on the wholesale site, and "mc vivimus llc 6101 long prairie rd ste 744 flower mound texas 75028" on Vivimu's contact page.[5][13] Colorado's attorney general found otherwise. The company "previously held an industrial hemp manufactured foods permit" for a facility in Golden and "currently operates at a facility located in lakewood colorado".[10] The state's first allegation, settled in May 2025, was that the Texas addresses were a deceptive representation of geographic origin. Its second, settled for a January 2026 announcement, was that Vivimu kept doing it "by using an argyle texas po box".[10] MC's own complaint puts MC Nutraceuticals' "principal place of business in golden colorado".[7] The wholesale site's latest capture, August 2026, still prints the Flower Mound suite, now beside a phone number with a Denver-area code: "6101 long prairie rd suite 744 flower mound tx 75028 720 978 3272".[6]

One more oddity. The October 2023 home page carried, in its contact block, "269 houston street los angeles ca 9020 usa", a placeholder address from a website template, beside the real Flower Mound one.[5] It is a small thing. It is also the kind of thing a buyer reads when deciding whether a seller is real.

What it sells

Bulk distillates and isolates. The 2021 wholesale menu was already the whole alt-cannabinoid shelf: "delta 8 cbd delta 8 o acetate thcv delta 8 water soluble cbc delta 10 cbt cbda cbg cbdv cbn".[4] HHC came within weeks and became the house product. Vivimu's 2024 menu ran to semi-synthetic acetates and rarer molecules: "thch distillate cbdp distillate h4cbd distillate", "hhco distillate", HHCP, CBNP, CBT.[14] By 2026 the first menu on the wholesale site was THCA: "thca thca concentrates thca badder thca crumble thca diamonds thca isolate", along with "thcp thcp distillate".[6]

Finished goods. Vivimu sold gummies, softgels, vapes, pre-rolls and, in 2022, a "Focus" softgel of THCV and CBDV. Its About page says "every product vivimu makes is put through a rigorous testing process", and also that buyers "will also notice other brands alongside vivimu products".[14]

The one the state singled out. The 8-OH-HHC shatter, a hydroxylated relative of HHC with no page on this site, was described in April 2024 as "crafted from premium organic hemp extract grown on usa farms".[15] Colorado's attorney general said the company "consistently falsely advertised certain products as being" organic.[3] The first assurance names this product. By June 2025, a month after it was signed, the same sentence read "crafted from premium hemp extract grown on usa farms", and the footer read "no sales in colorado".[16]

Figure 4. The same paragraph in June 2025, a month after the settlement. The word "organic" is gone. The rest is unchanged. [16]

Who makes it. The company's pages say "made in the usa".[6] The state's finding in 2025 was that the company "made inaccurate claims about having direct involvement in the production of its hemp products".[3] In its 2025 court answer, Asterra Labs, the former partner, wrote that MC "does not manufacture any of its own products and operates an arbitrage business".[12] MC called itself a manufacturer's partner and a distributor in its own complaint. Where the raw material comes from is the subject of the lawsuit, below.

Downstream. MC's jars turn up under other names. Gilded Extracts, a San Antonio shop that closed in 2025, kept an MC Nutraceuticals brand page and sold "hhc hexahydrocannabinol distillate mcn" and "clear delta 8 distillate mcn".[17] In 2022 r/altcannabinoids knew MC's bulk as "HG", Honey Gold, sold by a third retailer.[18][19] A reseller that uses MC's certificates is reselling MC's word.

What buyers report

We pulled every post in r/altcannabinoids from the Arctic Shift archive on 2026-10-11: 33,289 posts from 2020-08-21 to 2026-10-11. 703 name Vivimu, MC Nutraceuticals or MCN in the title or body: 90 in 2021, 353 in 2022, 190 in 2023, 31 in 2024, 27 in 2025 and 12 in 2026.[20] Smaller numbers come from r/CultoftheFranklin (28 posts), r/delta8 (25 since 2023), r/THCaFlower (3) and r/cleancarts (1). We sorted them by keyword and read every post flagged for a problem, about 70, by hand, plus a sample of the praise. The subreddit removes posts that name a vendor in some contexts, so for many complaints only the title survives. Counts are of posts.

A bar chart of posts naming Vivimu or MC Nutraceuticals in r/altcannabinoids by quarter, late 2021 to late 2026: 90 in the last quarter of 2021, a peak of 161 in early 2022, 98 in early 2023, then a fall to single digits from 2024, with markers for the 2022 certificate disputes, the 2024 HHC particle reports, the 2025 Colorado settlement, the Asterra lawsuit and the 2026 settlement.
Figure 5. How often the biggest home-blending forum talked about the two names, every quarter. Counted by us from the full archive of the subreddit. [20]

The launch, late 2021 to early 2022: praise, and free product. Vivimu opened to the public in November 2021, a few days late; the founder posted that the launch was "delayed due to merchant processing".[19] Then came the busiest quarter any vendor had in that subreddit: haul photos, recipe threads, "In Praise of VIVIMU - the free overnight shipping is very real".[21] Some of the reviews were paid in product. In January 2022 several reviewers of the new softgels opened with a disclosure: "this sample was provided in exchange for honest feedback on the product"; "vivimu sent me these softgels for free in exchange for an honest review".[22][23] We found seven review posts that disclose free product, six of them between 17 and 21 January 2022, for the new softgels. The same month a buyer asked why the Reddit accounts tied to Vivimu were suspended; a reply said "they get banned because of reddits no sourcing rule".[24]

Certificates in question, 2022. In August 2022 buyers noticed that Vivimu's new certificates for its delta-9 THC-O dropped the solvent page. A commenter wrote: "they seem to have just uploaded the 1st page of that same acs lab without including the other pages".[25] In October another thread recalled the original: "they did post labs for their d9o showing acetic anhydride at 8 000 ppm on release".[26] We could not find the original certificate in the archive, so that figure stays a buyer's account. The next dispute did leave a document.

The THCA diamonds, October 2022. On 19 October 2022 a buyer posted that Vivimu was selling THCA diamonds "but the lab test says nd for thca but 99 for cbd", with archived copies.[26] The certificate is still in the archive. New Bloom Labs, sample "ja 101322 thca diamonds", client "vivimu sample 10 17 2022 26046 6101 long prairie rd flower mound tx 75028": THCA not detected, CBD 99.586%.[27] A sample named THCA diamonds that tests as CBD isolate means either the wrong sample went to the lab or the wrong certificate went on the page. The buyer added that "just recently within' the last hour or so they changed the coas".[26] We have no statement from the company on which it was.

A New Bloom Labs certificate for sample JA-101322 THCa Diamonds, tested 17 October 2022: Total THC ND, delta-9 THC ND, Total Cannabinoids 99.898 percent, Total CBD 99.586 percent, with a cannabinoid table showing THCA-A not detected and cannabidiol at 99.586 percent.

Quality, 2023 to 2026: a steady trickle. By our sort, more than a dozen posts describe something wrong in the jar. In 2023, contaminated HHC and CBC in a 100 g order, and a post titled "Vivimu scammed me" whose author later wrote "i heated up the jars and mixed it around let it sit overnight and it cured the issue".[28] In May 2024 a buyer of delta-9 bulk gummies wrote "the coa on their site just lists d8" and "either they posted the wrong coa or they think their customers are stupid".[29] In November 2024, "all three 28g glass jars have visual specks".[1] In December 2024 a PSA said HHC from Vivimu and from another vendor that had switched "at the time they had just switched from their original supplier to mc nutraceuticals for their hhc" held the same particles. The poster quoted the other vendor's reply, "i am certain that this particle is not dangerous", and several commenters answered "it's most likely just air bubbles".[30] Later that month, a dark piece in an HHC jar, which one commenter guessed was "probably some contaminant from their crc", the filter column used to strip colour.[31] In October 2025, "Vivimu Contaminated CBT distillate", removed by moderators.[32] In November 2025, "now my whole blend smells like acetone", from a buyer who also wrote "i've never had an issue with vivimu" before.[33] None of these was backed by an independent test. Their number is the finding.

The "live rosin", late 2025. Vivimu sold an ounce of "live rosin" at 80% off. A buyer posted: "this is 100 definitely not rosin" and "it smells distinctly like delta 8".[34] Another posted a jar a week later, then a thread titled "Vivimu return label provided!"[35] A commenter on the first thread wrote "luckily they let me send it back and get a refund".[34]

A buyer's photo of an open plastic jar and its lid, both coated in a thick, pale yellow paste, posted to r/CultoftheFranklin in December 2025 as Vivimu live rosin.
Figure 7. A buyer's photo of the "live rosin" Vivimu sold at 80% off in late 2025. He wrote that it was "100 definitely not rosin". Vivimu later sent another buyer a return label. [34]

Delivery and service. Praise for speed never stopped. In June 2026 a buyer of 100 g of HHC wrote "shipping was fast too 2 business days", and another, in a thread titled "Great customer service from Vivimu...surpised!?", described a cancelled order handled well.[36][37] The complaints are about no reply. In April 2026 a buyer found a CBC jar short, "there should have been about 2g left there was nothing", wrote twice and called; "voicemail was full".[38] Posts titled "Vivimu not shipping and not responding?" (March 2026) and "Vivimu sale. Are they exit scamming?" (September 2026) were removed and survive as titles.[39][40] One 2024 title says a paid order was edited and an item kept.[41]

Lab results

Vivimu links a certificate from most product pages, often to a Google Drive folder, and keeps a Labs page.[15] That is more than many shops do. Three things qualify it. The one certificate we could read in full, for the THCA diamonds, does not match its product's name.[27] Colorado says the group "continued to improperly test various thc a products at" laboratories that the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment does not certify, which the first settlement had ruled out.[10] And the first settlement bound the company not to rest product claims on suppliers' word alone, which is what a reseller's certificate is. This site's lab-results section holds no independent test of an MC or Vivimu product.

Regulatory and legal

Colorado, May 2025. On 14 May 2025 the attorney general announced an assurance of discontinuance with MC Global Holdings, three affiliates and the two owners.[3][42] It covered both websites "from 2021 through approximately december 2024".[10] The state said the company "consistently falsely advertised certain products as being" organic, "made inaccurate claims about having direct involvement in the production of its hemp products" and "made unsupported or disallowed health claims".[3] The company denied violating the law. It agreed to "develop and implement an age verification system for their websites", to register its entities in Colorado, to keep MC Botanicals out of the state, and to "pay a 50 000 fine that could grow to 250 000 if it violates the settlement"; the assurance itself sets the penalty at "two hundred fifty thousand dollars", most of it suspended.[3][10] It was allowed to keep distributing "from its facility in lakewood".[3]

The Colorado Attorney General's press release of 14 May 2025 headed Cannabis companies to cease sales of unlawful hemp products to Colorado consumers, pay fines under settlements, with a section on MC Global Holdings saying it does business as Vivimu and falsely advertised certain products as organic.

Figure 9. The first assurance, May 2025. Four companies and their two owners sign; the allegations cover both websites, "from 2021 through approximately December 2024". [42]

Colorado, January 2026. "Four weeks following execution of the first assurance", the state says, it found violations.[10] An MC Botanicals email to Colorado buyers "advertising marijuana extract for sale outside of the regulated marijuana market". A Vivimu site that "only stated that their products were prohibited in several colorado cities despite those products being prohibited across the entire state". The Argyle PO box. The uncertified labs.[10] The second assurance sets "five hundred seventy five thousand dollars", of which $500,000 is suspended; the press release puts it as "pay a new fine of 75 000 that could grow to 575 000 if it violates the settlement again".[10][43] The attorney general said: "to be caught not once but twice as a company engaging in deceitful practices is shameful".[43] The company's position, in the document it signed: "the mc vivimu parties maintain that they have acted appropriately and dispute certain characterizations".[10]

Page 5 of Colorado's Second Assurance of Discontinuance, headed The MC/Vivimu Parties violated terms of the First Assurance, listing a solicitation email to Colorado consumers advertising marijuana extract, a website that said its products were banned only in some Colorado cities, and continued use of an Argyle, Texas PO box.
Figure 10. The second assurance, signed in time for a January 2026 announcement. Four weeks after the first one, the state says, the violations had already begun. [10]

North Carolina: MC v. Asterra, 2025 to now. In early 2025 MC set up MC Botanicals to work with Asterra Labs, a North Carolina hemp manufacturer, and its private-equity owner, Rise Capital. MC's complaint names Asterra's president as Rep. John R. Bell IV of the North Carolina House; in its words, he "is asterra's president".[7] The deal went wrong in a few months. MC sued in July 2025. It says Asterra failed to fulfil orders and lost inventory, that Asterra and Rise repudiated the contract after MC paid a few days late during "an acute temporary disruption of mc's financing systems and cash flow", and that they threatened to have its executives prosecuted.[7] The complaint also says the 2025 Texas veto came "thanks in part to the advocacy of mc botanicals officers", and calls MC "a national industry leader in lobbying regulatory reform and distribution".[7] On 2026-03-16 the court denied Rise's motion to dismiss the claims against it.[44]

The opening paragraphs of a verified complaint saying that since 2019 Asterra Labs and its private equity backer Rise Capital had sought to leverage their North Carolina political and financial networks, had little to show after ten million dollars, and caught a lucky break when MC Nutraceuticals, the national industry leader in bulk cannabinoids, agreed to work with them.
Figure 11. July 2025: MC sues its North Carolina partner, and opens with its own description of itself, "the national industry leader in bulk cannabinoids". [7]

Allegations: who says what, why, and what we could check

  • That MC sold imported Chinese and Lithuanian cannabinoids as American, and evaded tariffs. Asterra Labs, in its amended counterclaim of September 2025, made "upon information and belief". It alleges sourcing "purchases from an importer hau processing", orders split under the customs de minimis threshold, and that buyers were not told, since the products "do not indicate that china or lithuania is the country of origin".[12] Who says it: a former partner suing MC for money it says it is owed, which is its motive. What we could check: the company's pages say "made in the usa".[6] Colorado found the company had overstated its part in production.[3] Neither speaks to customs. MC moved to dismiss the counterclaims; on 2026-07-14 the parties reported that motion still pending, and on 2026-10-11 the docket showed no order deciding it.[45][46] On Reddit, one reader called the story "no evidence yet just allegations" and another "just more 'china bad' fear mongering".[47] It is untested.

A passage from Asterra Labs' amended counterclaim alleging, upon information and belief, that Hau Processing obtains raw ingredients from suppliers in China such as Shanghai Minstar Chemical and Lithuania such as Santobiotec, splits orders into small shipments to fall under the de minimis exception in 19 U.S.C. 1321, and mislabels shipments to avoid tariffs.
Figure 12. The former partner's answer, September 2025: an allegation, made "upon information and belief", about where the raw cannabinoids came from and how they crossed the border. Untested in court. [12]

  • That MC altered a supplier's certificate. The same counterclaim alleges a 99% CBC certificate from another maker was reused for CBC that had "a purity of 87 or less and consisted of 13 unknown chemicals".[12] Same source, same motive. We found no certificate that shows it.
  • That MC took money for orders it did not fill. Same counterclaim, alleging "accepting upfront payments for undelivered orders" from small business buyers.[12] Reddit's non-shipment posts are retail and fewer; see above. Untested.
  • That MC's delta-8 contained illegal delta-9. A reseller who was arrested in Arkansas sued a vape maker and MC in Wisconsin in 2024, describing MC as a company that "specializes in the wholesale distribution of cannabinoid products" and alleging "d8 products that contained illegal amounts of d9 thc".[48] He dropped MC from the case in August 2024: he "voluntarily dismisses the above action without prejudice against defendant mc nutraceuticals".[49] No ruling was made against MC.
  • That MC did not repay a bank loan. First-Citizens Bank & Trust sued MC Nutraceuticals in the Eastern District of Texas on 2026-02-27.[50] HempToday reports the bank says MC and its principals are "failing to repay a roughly 1 million loan" and "alleges the company and its principals failed to repay the loan issued in september 2023".[51] We could not read the complaint. This is a dispute about the company's debts, not its products, and no deduction rests on it.

None of these allegations moves a grade above. The grades rest on the state's two assurances, the certificate and the company's own pages.

If you bought from MC Nutraceuticals or Vivimu, hold a certificate or a jar you had tested, or worked there, rate it below or leave a note.

The ban

Congress passed a law in November 2025 banning nearly all intoxicating hemp products from November 2026.[52] MC's business is those products. In August 2026 the Denver Gazette reported that MC's chief executive "is at the forefront of efforts to delay a federal ban on hemp", and quoted an MC newsletter: "this position exists because the industry showed up".[52] Vivimu's July 2026 menu ends with a link reading "stop hemp ban".[53] The same month its home page still promised "potency meets purity independently lab tested".[53]

The Vivimu home page in July 2026: a green header with a menu reading SHOP, Bulk Orders, THCa, THCa Flower, All Cannabinoids, Edibles, Labs and Stop Hemp Ban, and a banner reading Potency Meets Purity over Vivimu gummy bags, softgels, a THCA isolate jar and a THCA live resin disposable.
Figure 13. July 2026, four months before the federal ban takes effect. THCA is the first menu, and the last item reads "Stop Hemp Ban". [53]

Age: the 2022 shop opened behind one button, and so did the 2026 one, "you must be 21 to enter this site".[54][53] Colorado's 2025 settlement required an age-verification system.[3]

The Vivimu home page in January 2022 behind a Verify Your Age pop-up with two buttons, I'm 21+ and I'm under 21, over a banner reading D9 Hemp Gummies Have Arrived and a promotion for 40 percent off finished goods.
Figure 14. Vivimu, the retail shop, in January 2022. Entry was one button, and the banner was selling delta-9 gummies. [54]

The MC Nutraceuticals home page in August 2026, a large headline reading The largest global supplier of cannabinoids, with lines Explore our high quality, third-party tested cannabinoid products, made in the USA, and badges for We're Local, Highest Quality, Pure Cannabinoids and Fast Shipping.
Figure 15. August 2026, the latest capture: "the largest global supplier of cannabinoids", "made in the usa". The footer below still gives a Flower Mound, Texas suite. [6]

Still open

  • Where the raw cannabinoids come from. Searched: the company's archived pages, both Colorado assurances, the North Carolina docket. The company says made in the USA. Colorado says it does not make what it sells. A former partner says the inputs are imported. No document we found shows the supply chain.
  • What happened to the motion to dismiss Asterra's counterclaims. Docket entries in September 2026 are listed without text.
  • The First-Citizens complaint and its status. The docket lists a complaint filed 2026-02-27; its text was not available.
  • The original 2022 delta-9 THC-O certificate. Searched the archive for the posted certificate; not found.
  • Whether the first assurance's suspended penalty was triggered. The second assurance replaces its payment terms. Searched for any Colorado court action to enforce either; none found.
