Phytocannabinoids

Cannabis-derived and hemp-derived isomers, plus the plant itself, which is an area because laboratories report cannabis as a single line. The plant makes its cannabinoids as acids — THCA, CBDA — which decarboxylate to the neutral forms under heat, so what is in the plant is not what reaches the person. Beyond THC and CBD the family holds CBN, CBG, CBC, THCV, CBDV and CBL, the Δ8 and Δ10 isomers, HHC, and the side-chain homologues THC-P, THC-B and THC-H.

Those homologues sit here rather than under the semi-synthetics because they are trace constituents of the plant, even though what is sold under their names is made in a reactor from CBD. That is the family's real hazard: hemp-derived products are sold outside pharmaceutical manufacturing, so labelled content, isomer purity and residual reagents vary product to product. CBD also inhibits CYP enzymes, raising levels of other drugs.
