7-OH (7-hydroxymitragynine): dosage

There is no reliable dosing data for 7-OH. No dose, range, or duration can be given here, and none should be trusted if you see one elsewhere. That absence is itself the key fact: the toxic dose is unknown [1], and no safe dose can be recommended [1].

Several things make guessing especially dangerous with this compound specifically:

7-OH is a mu-opioid receptor partial agonist, roughly ten times more potent than mitragynine (kratom's main alkaloid) at that receptor [2][3]. In rodent models it produces stronger analgesic effects than mitragynine and is more potent than morphine at the receptor level [2][4].

Bioavailability adds another layer of unpredictability: in a rodent pharmacokinetic study, only 2.7% of ingested 7-OH was orally bioavailable [1]. How much of a given dose actually reaches circulation is not something you can judge by eye or by feel.

Product-level variability is the more immediate problem. 7-OH occurs in kratom leaf only as a minor alkaloid, under 2% of total alkaloid content [4]. Concentrated commercial products are frequently over 100 times more concentrated than what's naturally in the plant [5], and independent testing has found labeled 7-OH content to be unreliable — actual concentrations often run higher than what's printed on the label [1]. A dose that worked with one product tells you nothing about another.

Given all this, the only controls available are procedural, not numerical: use a milligram scale that reads to 0.001g if you're working with concentrate at all, dose volumetrically rather than by eye, start at a fraction of whatever amount you were planning, and never use alone.
