Is Poppers (alkyl nitrites) legal in Vermont?

Vermont

Not checked yet.

Nobody has read Vermont's law on Poppers (alkyl nitrites) for this page. We do not guess: this is not a statement that it is legal there, and it is not a statement that it is banned. The federal line below still applies in every state.

Federal

Banned In effect since

90 days after November 29, 1990 (subsection (d)).

volatile alkyl nitrite shall be considered a banned hazardous product under section 2057 of this title
for any commercial purpose or any other purpose approved under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act

15 U.S.C. 2057b, Banning of isopropal nitrite and other nitrites (United States Code 2023 edition) U.S. Government Publishing Office (govinfo)

Our note: A consumer-product ban with a commercial-purpose exception: the "commercial purpose" excluded is making consumer products for inhaling. That exception is why bottles are sold as cleaners and room odorisers.
