Peptide Hormones
Peptides and proteins acting at their own receptors rather than at the androgen receptor. HGH and IGF-1 drive growth signalling; HCG mimics LH, which is why it also appears in post-cycle use to restart suppressed production. The family also holds insulin and oxytocin, melanotan II — a melanocortin agonist affecting pigmentation, appetite and erections — and BPC-157, sold widely on human evidence that is thin to absent. Being peptides, they are injected: swallowing them destroys them.
The risk is not uniform, and one member is unlike the rest. Insulin is the fast one — hypoglycaemia has no plateau to sit on, and it is the item in this subject where a mistake plays out in minutes rather than over years. The others act on growth and endocrine signalling, where consequences accumulate quietly, and most reach a person through a supply that establishes neither identity nor sterility.
