The two grades are never combined. Ours is what the record shows; theirs is what people who dealt with this entity say.

  • Is there an identifiable legal operator: a registered name, a jurisdiction, an address that resolves?

an LLC name on the shipping and terms pages, a California town on the contact page, Texas law in the disclaimer; no state record found, registrant hidden

    Evidence: [9][8][10][11][2]

    Evidence: [2][3][4][51]

  • Does it publish third-party certificates of analysis for what it sells?

a labs page from three laboratories, including full panels for solvents, metals, microbes and pesticides; several entries posted as temporary certificates

    Evidence: [17][43][12]

  • Where there are results, do they agree with the label, the marketing and the reported effects?

14 of 22 products within 10% of the label at a community tester, 8 outside it; a posted certificate over its own methanol limit, defended on the labs page; pseudoindoxyl at 6% where the page said minuscule

    Evidence: [18][43][36][47]

    Evidence: [7][19][20][21]

  • Pattern of complaints about orders not arriving, long delays, no tracking?

49 of 224 threads on a late, lost or damaged parcel; a two-day guarantee withdrawn within weeks; much praise for next-day delivery

    Evidence: [1][24][25][22]

  • Pattern of complaints about wrong, inert, contaminated or mislabelled product?

30 threads on weak, foul or odd product, 16 on short, wrong or empty orders, 4 on harm, against 50 threads of praise

    Evidence: [1][30][35][41][42][40]

  • Chargebacks refused, refunds unanswered, processors dropped?

a card charged with no order found, card networks refusing, and in March 2026 a locked company bank account and loyalty balances not carried over

    Evidence: [67][68][69][51][49]

  • Warning letters, seizures, lawsuits, attorney-general actions, platform bans?

no warning letter or federal case found under any of the names

    Evidence: [21][55][72]

  • Is there any attempt to keep minors out?

    a one-click 21+ box; the warning page says 18

    Evidence: [36][11][70][62]

  • Does it say what the legal status of what it sells is, honestly, where it ships?

a list of banned states and a warning that names addiction and death; nothing on FDA's position on 7-OH, and 'not intended for human consumption' on a dosed tablet

    Evidence: [70][71][64]

The long read

Who they say they are, and what the record says

7oh Black sold 7-OH, the concentrated kratom-derived opioid, as strips, powders and tablets by mail from August 2024 until March 2026. Buyers call it 7OB, 7ohB or Black; in its last weeks the store traded as 7ohmBlack. In the 7-OH subreddits it is the second most-named vendor after Omega Extrax: 3,440 posts by 1,343 accounts name it (method under What buyers report).[1] In the 90 days to 2026-10-16, 13 posts did. The reason is not a raid or a ban: in March 2026 the store's staff left to open a company of their own, and its founders reopened under another name.

Its shop was 7ohblack.com, registered on 2024-08-10 with the owner's details not shown.[2] Three days later the page read “110mg 7oh for 29 99 really”.[3] On 2024-08-16 a buyer thanked the store because a second order he had placed was refused by phone: they had no stock and “the site shouldn't have allowed me to order”.[4] By September the home page sold one product, “5 pack 7ohblack rapid dissolving strips 25mg 7oh”, under a banner reading “make money while you sleep join our affiliate program”.[5]

The 7ohblack.com home page in September 2024: a yellow banner reading Make Money While You Sleep: Join Our Affiliate Program, a black foil pack labelled 25 MG PER STRIP 7-HYDROXYMITRAGYNINE, 5 strips, 125mg per pack, cartoon sachets around it, and a box reading 125mg 7oh for $29.99. Really.
Figure 1. The storefront in its first month, September 2024: one product, a five-pack of 25 mg 7-OH strips, and an affiliate programme in the top banner. [5]

The store's account introduced it in August 2024: “as heavy users of 7oh we were fed up with quality inconsistency and price gouging”.[6] The About page said the two founders “started 7ohblacktm because they were sick of being price gouged by mainstream companies selling overpriced tablets”.[7]

The legal name appears twice. The terms of service end “our contact information is posted below meltim llc”, and say the terms are “construed in accordance with the laws of united states”.[8] The shipping policy says the parcel label “typically shows our llc's name meltim llc”.[9] We did not find Meltim LLC in a state register. By December 2025 the contact page gave “exclusive online access encinitas california”,[10] while the legal disclaimer said “these terms are governed by the laws of the state of texas”.[11] A certificate the store posted in 2025 names its client as 7OH Black at an address in Texas.[12] Buyers' parcels left from north San Diego County: “it started out in carlsbad”, one wrote of an overnight order in November 2025.[13]

What they sell

Strips and powder, 2024. The first strips were sold before any laboratory had seen them: the store's account wrote that the batch was “supplier tested 26mg of 7oh per strip”, and “we have decided to give people the option to go ahead and order prior to official testing results being posted”.[6] A week later the first powder “became available sort of by accident and now orders are coming through”, with “the numbers we were given by our supplier” as its strength.[14] In September the store sold from a second address while “we were forced to open a temporary site in the beginning of our last launch due to shopify issues on the og domain”.[15] Buyers said the store did not make its powder; one asked whether “the 83 powder from wg is the exact same powder that 7ohblack is selling”.[16]

Powders and tablets, 2025. By January 2025 the labs page listed tablets such as “red xl 30 19mg with a dash of pseudo tablets”, Cactus Cooler, Blackbull, Mango and Tobias, and powders up to “yellow cake 98 7 alkaloids our strongest yet reserve collection”.[17] Later came Thicc Daddy, Matcha, White Chocolate, Bubblegum, Dragon Fruit and a “24 67mg mint mit 20 20 tablet”, from about 9 mg to 112 mg of 7-OH.[18] The tablets carried mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, a second opioid made from mitragynine, as the names said.

What the store said it was. The About page promised “high quality kratom sourced from old growth forests” and “empowering our community to enjoy the benefits of pure potent kratom”.[7] The labs page explained its blends: “we call it the entourage effect”, and “this is the natural world taking care of you the best way it knows how”.[19] In August 2025 a buyer posted an email from the store saying “they don't chemically convert mitragynine into 7 hydroxymitragynine to make their product”: “they claim they extract it from raw kratom leaves”.[20] FDA's account is that “while 7 oh occurs naturally in trace amounts in kratom” the products it acts against are concentrates.[21] The store's own certificate below reports a powder of 93.71% 7-OH.

What buyers report

We searched the local Arctic Shift archive of 33 subreddits on 2026-10-17 for “7ohblack”, “7oh black”, “7-oh black”, “7ob” and “7ohb”, from 2024-08-16 (the first post naming the store) to 2026-10-16. 3,440 posts by 1,343 authors name it, 2,493 of them in r/7_hydroxymitragynine. The archive holds posts, not comments. “Black” alone was not counted, and three August 2024 posts about a shelf tablet called Pegasus 7-OH Black were removed. Posts peaked at 334 in January 2025 and fell below 40 a month after March 2026. We then classified all 224 threads with the store's name in the title and 40 or more comments by what the opening post describes, a thread counting in each row it fits.[1]

Praise is the largest group and its subject is speed: “delivered to my door under 24 hours on a saturday”, one buyer wrote in January 2026,[22] and another, in July 2025, that he had “never had an issue with quality or delivery”.[23]

Parcels. The commonest complaint is the parcel. In January 2025 the store offered delivery in two business days or the order free, and within weeks emailed buyers that “they no longer offer that 2 day guarantee”.[24] In May 2025 a buyer who paid for overnight delivery was told by the carrier that it was “the vendor themselves who changed the delivery date that they hadn't paid fedex yet”,[25] and the same week another reported that a “7ohb shipment has been labeled for fraud wont be delivered till cleared”.[26] In January 2026 a buyer wrote “well 7ohblack ripped me off for 345 today” over a parcel stuck with UPS, and apologised the next day: “i realize you guys can do what you can it's ups”.[27][28]

Short and empty orders. In September 2024 a buyer weighed his powder and found “each gram came out to only a bit over 8 grams”, the decimal point lost.[29] In December 2024 a buyer “recieved a package with just some freebies in it”.[30] In September 2025 another wrote that “they shipped significantly less than i ordered and wouldn't respond to support emails”.[31] The store answered short-order claims with video: one buyer found a pack it had “pulled up the packing video of my order” for stuck to the mailer,[32] while others objected that “i have to open the box on video”[33] and, after a pack arrived with one tablet in place of ten, “i was told i would need to make a video of me stating my name”.[34]

Strength and labelling. In October 2024 a buyer of an 85% powder wrote “i'm positive this is mit extract”.[35] The store later wrote on its labs page that “we went through a couple of rough batches that nearly took down the whole business”, in October.[36] Free tablets came without names or strengths: “7oh black legit sends bags of pills with no labeling”, a buyer wrote in December 2025,[37] and another that a free tablet was “almost four times as strong as the stuff that i ordered with no label on it”.[38] A reviewer who liked the store still wrote “biggest gripe is they don't label tabs”.[31]

Harm. Four opening posts describe harm. In January 2025 a buyer of two tablet lines reported “feeling sick during the high irregular heartbeat restless leg”.[39] In June 2025 another wrote that “the tablets started giving me teeth pain burning in my esophagus and stomach pain”.[40] On Christmas Day 2025 a buyer on a fixed income wrote that “these tabs burned my lips and mouth with a very heavy chemical flavor”, and guessed at methanol.[41] In February 2026 a buyer of a matcha batch described “overwhelming fatigue suicidal” and stopped taking it.[42] None of these was tested.

Lab results

The store kept a labs page headed “7ohblack labs tested by murray brown cora science” from 2024, with full certificates for some batches and, for new tablets, a “temporary coa full coa available wednesday”.[17] In January 2025 it listed certificates for nine powder batches and the tablets then on sale.

The Yellow Mellow certificate. In February 2025 the labs page carried a certificate from PharmLabs San Diego for a powder called Yellow Mellow, file name “yellow mellow red”, tested for 7ohBlack and reported on 2025-02-14. It is a full panel. It reports 93.71% 7-OH and 6.02% pseudoindoxyl; no heavy metals or microbes; one pesticide, chlorantraniliprole, at 0.394 µg/g with no limit printed; and, in the solvents, methanol at 9,286.9 µg/g against the laboratory's limit of 3,000, methylene chloride at 25.4 against 1, and ethyl acetate at 4,272.7 against 5,000.[43]

The top of a PharmLabs San Diego certificate of analysis, sample Yellow Mellow, sample ID SD250206-013, tested for 7ohBlack, received Feb 05 2025, reported Feb 14 2025, matrix concentrate: 7-hydroxy mitragynine 93.71 per cent, 937.06 mg/g; mitragynine, speciogynine and speciociliatine not detected.
Figure 2. The Yellow Mellow certificate, February 2025: 93.71% 7-OH and no mitragynine. The second page is below. [43]

The residual solvents table of the same certificate: methanol 9286.9 micrograms per gram against a limit of 3000; methylene chloride 25.4 against 1; ethyl acetate 4272.7 against 5000; acetone 429.1; hexane 97.9 against 290; toluene 73.0; xylenes 111.5. Below it, mitragynine pseudoindoxyl 6.02 per cent, 60.20 mg/g.
Figure 3. Page two: methanol at 9,286.9 µg/g against the lab's limit of 3,000, methylene chloride at 25.4 against 1, and 6.02% pseudoindoxyl in a powder the store said held pseudo 'in minuscule amounts'. [43]

A buyer posted it the same day: it “fails for methanol and has pesticides in it”.[44] Two days later he wrote that the store “first took it entirely down” and that “now they're putting it back up and standing by it”.[45] The labs page now carried a section headed “addressing methylene chloride levels exposing the reddit haters”, which conceded the figure “that might look high at first glance” and worked it down to micrograms per dose. It did not mention the methanol figure. The same page said its blends held “trace alkaloids including pseudo in minuscule amounts”; the certificate it defended reports 6.02% pseudoindoxyl.[36] The certificate stayed on the page as “batch 10 yellow mellow red” at the end of 2025.[19]

The 7ohblack.com labs page in February 2025 behind an age-verification pop-up reading You must be 21 years old to access this website, with Yes, I'm over 21 and No, I'm under 21 buttons. Behind it, text headed Addressing Methylene Chloride Levels works through 25.4 micrograms per gram and a 50 mg dose.
Figure 4. The labs page in February 2025, two days after buyers posted the Yellow Mellow certificate: a one-click age check over the store's reply about methylene chloride. The reply does not mention methanol. [36]

The limits are the laboratory's. A Cora Science certificate the store posted a month later, for Honeybee Gold, uses the pharmaceutical solvent limits: methanol not more than 3,000 µg/g, the same as PharmLabs, and dichloromethane (methylene chloride) not more than 600, not 1. On that scale the Yellow Mellow powder passes for methylene chloride and fails for methanol by three times. Honeybee Gold itself reports 81.6% 7-OH and 153 µg/g of methanol, and passes every solvent.[12]

Page two of a Cora Science certificate, work order ISO03517, issued 18 March 2025: Class II residual solvents with specifications, methanol NMT 3000 result 153 PASS, dichloromethane NMT 600 below LOQ PASS, toluene 312.3, every row PASS.
Figure 5. A Cora Science certificate for Honeybee Gold a month later: methanol 153 µg/g, every solvent passing. Cora's limit for dichloromethane (methylene chloride) is 600, not 1. [12]

Independent tests. TestMyKratom, a community testing service, tested 22 of the store's products between September 2024 and January 2026.[18] Fourteen came within 10% of the label, among them powders that matched their claim (its first 79% powder at 83.09%,[46] and one of which the tester wrote “this is the strongest powder result we have ever seen”). Eight did not. Six tablets were 13% to 20% weaker than sold, for example “7ohblack blueberry muffin tablets contained 42 35mg of combined 7 hydroxy and pseudo which was about 20 weaker than its 53 23mg claim” and “7ohblack bubblegum tablets contained 97 94mg of combined 7 hydroxy and pseudo which was about 13 weaker than its 111 97mg claim”; a matcha tablet was 11% stronger; and of strips 18% stronger the tester wrote “we must note with some annoyance that they sold these strips in packaging that implied a potency of 25mg”. Of a tablet tested in January 2026 it added “note that this failed for methanol on the solvent test but we do not fail products for methanol since it is not harmful”.[18] TestMyKratom later hosted one of the founders on its podcast and, from September 2026, sold tablets of its own.

The first label dispute was older. In September 2024 a buyer of a powder sold as 99% wrote that the store's account had confirmed “it was only equal to 840mgs not 990mgs of 7oh”, and replied to his screenshot of the listing: “good eye we'll have to change that now”.[47]

The split, and the two shops after it

On 2026-01-01 a second domain, 7ohmblack.com, was registered, and a buyer later asked “when did 7ohblack change to 7ohmblack”.[48][49] On 2026-01-02 kreleaf.com was registered, on the same pair of Cloudflare nameservers.[50]

On 2026-03-02 the shop closed. Buyers quoted a notice saying the owner “has restricted access to the company bank account preventing us from processing payments fulfilling orders and issuing team payroll”, that orders already paid for had been shipped by the staff's new company, Kreleaf, and that “the same team and the products you know and trust now have a new home”.[51] Staff accounts explained in the threads: “the short story is we the employees left the company the owner flipped out and froze everything”; “kreleaf was a sister site that was already being built”; the store's “rewards program will not be transferring over”, though “kreleaf is going to honor 50 of any points”.[49] To buyers who feared an exit scam, one answered that an “exit scam would mean that we just split without sending anything”.[52]

The founders' side came in April 2026, on a TestMyKratom podcast that we have not heard; buyers summarised it. One wrote that a staff member “stole the company out from under the guy that gave him the opportunity while he was overseas”; another, “there's two sides to every story there's a reason all the employees left 7ohblack”.[53] In March a buyer had already put the founders' case: “it was obvious that you guys had been planning to basically steal the company”.[49] When a Kreleaf owner went on the podcast in May, he “reads a statement prepared by his lawyer” and would not discuss it.[54] We found no court case in the federal dockets under either name.[55] A buyer in September summed up where that leaves a reader: “its difficult to discern which side is telling the truth”.[56]

In April 2026 7ohblack.com showed a blank shop template, “example product example product 100 00”.[57] favordalkz.com had been registered on 2026-03-17,[58] and in May a buyer posted that the “founders of 70black have new site up”.[59] Another, ordering on 7ohblack.com, “received an email from favordalkz com instead of 70hblack saying it was received”.[60] On 2026-05-18 7ohblack.com read “wholesale distribution b2b est 2024 black is back dtc now favor”, the line ending in a link to Favor'd Alkz, and offered shops a wholesale account: “we partner with distributors and retailers to put clean third party tested product in stores nationwide”.[61] We treat Favor'd Alkz as the same operation under a new name, because its own former domain says so; Kreleaf is a separate company.

7ohblack.com in May 2026, plain unstyled text: WHOLESALE, DISTRIBUTION, B2B, EST. 2024, a heading Black is Back, a link reading DTC NOW Favor'd Alkz, a wholesale inquiry form answering from support@favordalkz.com, and below it a dark banner SHOP FAVOR'D ALKZ.
Figure 6. 7ohblack.com in May 2026, two months after the staff left: 'Black is Back', and direct sales now under the name Favor'd Alkz. [61]

Favor'd Alkz says “every batch is third party tested every certificate is yours to see”[62] and promises “no underdosed tablets no proprietary blend excuses”.[63] In August 2026 it listed an “og 7ohblack powder raw 7 oh extract powder” and a “passion fruit mgm 15 pressed mgm 15 tablet”, and told buyers “our payment processor has authorized continued processing while the decision is pending” on the DEA's notices.[64] In June 2026 a buyer posted that he and his wife had screened positive for fentanyl after taking its tablets, and that “my wife went into the er as she wasn't feeling well”; he wrote in the same thread that he was weaning from fentanyl, and a reply said “a presumptive fentanyl screen is not evidence that a vendor is putting fentanyl in tablets”.[65] We found no laboratory result that followed. In September a buyer reported the 7ohblack.com site down,[56] and buyers reported Kreleaf closing.[66]

The favordalkz.com home page in May 2026 behind an age-verification box reading You must be 21+ to enter, with I am 21 or older, enter and I am under 21, leave buttons, and a line saying statements have not been evaluated by the FDA.
Figure 7. Favor'd Alkz, the founders' store from May 2026, opens behind a one-click 21+ box. [62]

Payment

In December 2024 a buyer wrote “they charged my card but they're saying they can't see my money or my order”.[67] In May 2025 another found “two attempted fraud charges on a old card of mine” in the store's name.[68] By January 2026 buyers with Mastercard found that at checkout “it just won't process the payment”.[69] The split in March 2026 ended the loyalty balances described above.[49]

Regulatory and legal

The warning page named the risks plainly, “including but not limited to seizures liver damage withdrawal addiction and even death”, and said “this product has not been evaluated by the food and drug administration and is not intended for human consumption”, on a site selling tablets by the milligram. The same page said the product was “not intended for individuals under 18 years of age”.[70] The legal disclaimer said “you must be at least 21 years of age to purchase or use any 7ohblack product”,[11] and the labs page opened behind a one-click 21+ box.[36] Favor'd Alkz opens behind the same kind of box: “by entering this site you confirm you are 21 years of age or older”.[62] The site listed where it would not ship: “this product is not available for shipment to the following states alabama arkansas indiana rhode island wisconsin”, and several counties.[71] None of these pages mentions FDA's view of 7-OH.

On 2025-07-15 FDA “announced seven recent warning letters sent to companies for illegally marketing products containing 7 hydroxymitragynine”; none went to this store under any of its names.[21] A federal docket search returned nothing for 7ohblack, Kreleaf or Favor'd Alkz.[55] On 2026-07-06 the DEA gave notice that it intends to place 7-OH above a set threshold in Schedule I.[72]

Still open

Who Meltim LLC is and where it is registered. The site gives the name, a California town and Texas law; we found no state record.

What happened between the founders and the staff in February and March 2026. Both sides have spoken through Reddit and a podcast; a lawyer is involved on one side; we found no filing.

Whether any tablet carried a solvent panel. The certificates we opened with solvent panels were for powders.

Whether the Favor'd Alkz tablets a buyer blamed for a positive fentanyl screen were ever tested.
