HOTWHIP: flavored nitrous tanks boxed as European, traced to a gas factory in Hunan

Who they say they are, and what the record says

HOTWHIP is a brand of large disposable nitrous oxide tanks, the flavored kind that turned an 8-gram whipped-cream charger into a two- or three-kilogram cylinder sold online and in smoke shops. Our deep dive on the flavored nitrous tank boom tells that story and the lawsuits that followed. This page is about one brand in it, the one whose tank the FDA chose to photograph.

The FDA's 2025 advisory said "FDA advises consumers not to inhale nitrous oxide products from any size canisters, tanks, or chargers", and listed the brands, "sold under multiple brand names including but not limited to cosmic gas baking bad galaxy gas hotwhip massgass".[1] Its product photograph shows a blue HOTWHIP tank of 2,560 g beside a box printed Premium European Quality.[1]

The store's own photographs carry the same line. Its picture of the Bomb Pop tank shows Premium European Quality at the top of the box, and at the foot, in the small print every dangerous-goods package has to carry, the packaging code 4G/Y7/S/24 CN/C311318.[2] In that code the letters after the year name the country that approved the package. CN is China. A buyer's photograph from December 2024 shows the same European line on the tank itself.[3]

Every record outside the box points the same way. The domain hotwhip.net was registered on 2024-03-28 through Alibaba Cloud's registrar, HiChina, with the registrant's province given as Hunan, in China.[4] The brand name was filed at the US Patent and Trademark Office in January 2024 for "gas pressurized beverage siphon containers namely cream whippers cream pitchers and soda water holders and gas cartridges sold empty", and the owner field on that application reads "owner name hunan huiteng gas co ltd", with an address in "changsha hunan china".[5] The application claimed "first use oct 15 2023" and was abandoned: "date abandoned dec 26 2024".[5] A second HOTWHIP filing, for whipped cream, whipped toppings and other dairy goods, was registered on 2026-07-07 (registration 8337422) to an individual with an address in the Yuhua district of Changsha.[6]

Hunan Huiteng Gas had already said so. In September 2023, months before the website existed, a Reddit account calling itself HuitengGAS posted in r/NitrousOxide that the company "is an old gas factory in southern china", and "we are the supplier of many well known cream charger brands and we also have our own brand hot whip".[7] Buyers later repeated it in their own words: "hotwhip is the suppliers own brand name that they sell under and they offer custom labeling with bulk orders from china",[8] and "hotwhip is their default brand name but they allow custom labels for other companies".[9]

What the website says

The website never names the factory or its country. Its About page in September 2024 said "hotwhip net was established in 2024 prior to this we had been engaged in b2b sales", and that "hotwhip owns its factory allowing us to strictly control product quality from the source", selling "by supplying directly from our factory and eliminating middlemen".[10]

The contact page names two companies. One is American: "us hotwhip inc address 85 middle rd 1065 hudson ny". The other is in Hong Kong: "hk samyok industrial limited address room 13 27 f ho king commercial centre 2 16 fa yuen street mongkok kowloon".[11] New York's records hold HOTWHIP INC. as a domestic business corporation, DOS ID 7348919, filed on 2024-06-11 in Columbia County, at 85 Middle Rd #1065, Hudson.[12] Twenty-two active New York corporations give 85 Middle Road, Hudson, as their address for service, each with a different suite number.[13]

Goods ship from California. The shipping page says "all products only ship within the united states", from a warehouse on "hermosa ave rancho cucamonga ca 91730".[14] Wholesale buyers abroad order by the shipping container: "wholesale orders are limited to the usa for europe or other regions a minimum order of one container is required".[15]

A wine shop at the start

The store runs on Ueeshop, a Chinese e-commerce platform; its first archived page signs off "2024 hotwhip powered by ueeshop".[16] That page, from 2024-05-31, is the archive's first capture of the site,[17] and it had not been finished. Over a row of nitrous tanks it read "romance mystery and excitementcome from hotwhip", and the product list was headed "our products featured wines". Lower down it offered to help "have you been dreaming about your own wine we will help you to create it". The contact address then was in "mira loma ca 91752".[16] The banner itself is a factory's catalogue page, offering OEM and ODM service, that is, making the product under someone else's label.

By December 2025 the site had been rebuilt. Its banner reads "the only official website of hotwhip brand", it sells "3 3l 2112g bomb pop flavor nitrous tanks for canada" in a separate Canada sale, and its menu has added a "helium tank for balloons".[18]

What they sell

Tanks. The catalogue in September 2024 ran from "pure n20 0 95l 640g tanks 1 1l 700g tanks" through 3.3 L tanks of 2,112 g and 4.0 L tanks of 2,480 g, with 9 g chargers, regulators and dispensers.[19] The 4.0 L tank was sold as "our 2480 food grade nitrous oxide whipped cream chargers", promising cream "without greasy residues metal fragments or unpleasant odors".[20] By the time the FDA photographed it the 4.0 L tank was marked 2,560 g, and in January 2025 a 4.5 L tank of 3,060 g joined the list.[21] Nitrous oxide has a page on this site: nitrous oxide.

Flavors. Original, watermelon, lemon, blueberry, strawberry, and Bomb Pop, the name of a frozen-treat brand. The Bomb Pop listing of November 2024 reads "bring summer vibes to your desserts with the hotwhip bomb pop flavor cream charger".[22] Buyers in r/NitrousOxide recommend it by name: "i would try the bomb pop or blueberry".[23]

Amazon. The brand ran its own store on Amazon. A buyer's January 2025 screenshot shows a sponsored listing from the store hotwhip for a 2,112 g tank, rated 4.1 from 60 reviews, the box printed for food purposes only and do not inhale; the buyer wrote "i saw this on amazon and they seem to have good prices and reviews".[8] Another, in May 2025: "i got a pack with 2x2112g tanks in it that were hot whip brand from amazon".[23] By late 2025 buyers were reporting the listings gone. "uhh yeah i heard amazon stopped selling cylinders", one wrote in November;[24] in February 2026 another, "all the suppliers have since been removed".[25]

The claims on the listings

The FDA. The product pages claim the FDA's approval. The Bomb Pop listing says the tanks "have passed multiple safety certifications including the u s fda certification".[22] The 4.5 L listing goes further: "our 99 99 pure nitrous oxide is fda approved".[21] The FDA's own word on HOTWHIP is the advisory above, which names the brand in a warning not to inhale it.[1]

Purity. The listings give "2112 grams 3 3 liters of pure 99 99 food grade nitrous oxide",[22] and the 2024 banner 99.9 per cent.[16] No certificate of analysis, test result or safety data sheet appears on any page read for this dossier. The store's own blog, in July 2025, warned buyers that "some low end manufacturers skip testing or forge documents to cut costs".[26]

Use. The terms are firm on paper. "the sale of whip cream chargers for the purpose of inhalation is illegal under no circumstances does hotwhip condone and or permit this manner of use", they say, and "food use only do not inhale the nitrous oxide found in whipped cream charger refills it may cause serious and irreversible damage to your health including death".[27] The terms choose "subject to the laws of the state of georgia", a state where none of the brand's addresses is.[27]

A blog that recommends Galaxy Gas. In November 2024 the store published a blog post on whether it is illegal to buy nitrous oxide online. It says "selling or using nitrous oxide to get high is illegal in california", and advises readers to "avoid purchasing for recreational use as this is illegal and poses serious health risks".[28] Between those two lines it recommends where to buy: "below i recommend three online websites for purchasing nitrous oxide shopgalaxygas com", then ExoticWhip's site, then its own, whose makers "they proudly manufacture their products in their own factory".[28] Galaxy Gas is the brand at the center of the deep dive. ExoticWhip was added to the FDA's list in June 2025.[1]

What buyers report

Every post in r/NitrousOxide from January 2023 to October 2026 whose title or text names HotWhip or Hot Whip was found in the Arctic Shift archive, 34 posts from 2023-09-07 to 2026-05-26, and all were read with their comment threads.[29] A thread can fall into several groups.

The gas. Praise and complaint are close to even. "hot whips was the most consistent and potent i could find just fyi", one buyer wrote in May 2025.[23] Another: "i had about 6 cans from them and 0 of them had a single issue".[8] On the other side, "two out of three big tanks leaked they sent replacement gas but half tanks and their replacements tasted like oil",[8] and "i definitely got one that had a pretty bad metallic taste halfway through the tank".[30] A buyer who tried it because of its advertising wrote "i think goldwhip is better than this brand only got it cause i saw adverts for it", and called it "almost like watered down whippets".[31] Another, asked for premium brands, wrote "galaxy gas or hot whip these were definitely gross and overrated".[32] No thread reports a laboratory test.

Delivery. Few threads are about shipping. "i was waiting on the package i ordered from hw only took 3 days", one wrote in November 2025.[33] A 2024 Amazon order "was marked delivered 2 days ago", its buyer wrote, and had not reached him.[34]

The age check. A buyer asked in July 2025: "anybody know if hotwhip ids im 19". Nobody answered.[35] The terms say "you must be 21 years of age or older to purchase hotwhip products", and that "customers must submit id in response to any request made via e mail or otherwise before any shipment".[27] The box in the store's photograph carries an 18 mark.[2]

Is the website real? One account asked "are these hotwhip and mass gass websites legit" in August 2025.[36] No lookalike domain was found; the brand's only domain is the one in this page's header.

Allegations: who says what, why, and what we could check

That the brand's praise on Reddit is promotion. Several readers say posts about HotWhip read like advertising. Under a December 2024 post that praised the tank in the second person, "this stuff is so pure you can tell they actually do the extra steps to provide quality" and "the best thing about these tanks is the strap you guys are genius for this", a reader answered "reads like an ad lol".[3] The same praise was posted twice that day. In January 2025 a reader wrote of a new account asking about the brand, "otherwise it seems like a bot trying to peddle its wares", and another, "this hot whip dude again with another name".[37] What we could check: an account that opened a "has anyone tried Hotwhip" thread the same month commented elsewhere that day "you are professional my company is a supplier of marz", Marz being another tank brand.[9] A supplier asking strangers about a brand is consistent with what the readers say, and it is not proof of who runs the account. The September 2023 post by the factory's account is the one post in the set that says plainly whose it is.[7]

That HOTWHIP comes from the same factory as other brands. Buyers say the maker labels tanks for others, citing import records. The factory's own post says "we are the supplier of many well known cream charger brands".[7] The import records were not read for this page.

Lab results

None are published: no certificate of analysis, no laboratory name, no batch number and no safety data sheet on any archived page read for this dossier. The purity figures, 99.9 and 99.99 per cent, are the listings' own.[22] The packaging carries hazard diamonds and an inhalation-hazard symbol.[2]

Regulatory and legal

The FDA. HOTWHIP is named in the FDA's advisory of March 14, 2025, and in its June 4 update, and its tank is one of the four the agency pictured.[1] The advisory is a warning to consumers, not an order against the company.

Courts. A CourtListener search for "Hotwhip", "Hot Whip" and "Huiteng" on 2026-10-11 returned no case naming the brand or the factory.[38]

States. The state laws restricting the sale of nitrous tanks are set out in the deep dive. HOTWHIP's shipping page lists no state it will not ship to.[14]

Still open

• Who HOTWHIP INC. is. The New York record gives an individual for service at a Hudson address shared by 22 corporations. Whether the corporation is related by ownership to Hunan Huiteng Gas or to HK Samyok Industrial Limited is not in any record read.
• The Hong Kong company. HK Samyok Industrial Limited was not looked up in Hong Kong's Companies Registry.
• Import records. US bills of lading for Hunan Huiteng Gas and HOTWHIP shipments were not searched.
• The Amazon store. The brand's Amazon storefront and its seller details were not archived for this page.
