Be the first. The form below takes about twenty seconds and needs no account.

The two grades are never combined. Ours is what the record shows; theirs is what people who dealt with this entity say.

  • Is there an identifiable legal operator: a registered name, a jurisdiction, an address that resolves?

the privacy policy names Lost In Translation Inc and a Carson City, Nevada address; the registration behind it was not read; the trademarks are filed by a California LLC under another name

    Evidence: [2][3][7][11]

  • How long has it operated, by evidence: first archive capture, domain registration, oldest attributable post?

domain 2017, seed shop archived 2019, THCA flower from 2024

    Evidence: [5][6][8]

  • Does it publish third-party certificates of analysis for what it sells?

132 archived certificates; 129 test cannabinoids only; the 2024 ones include certificates issued to another vendor

    Evidence: [26][27][13][29][35]

  • Where there are results, do they agree with the label, the marketing and the reported effects?

four 2024 certificates carry dates that disagree with their own sample numbers; the Wedding Cake copy matches its client's copy result for result under a different number and date

    Evidence: [29][30][32][33][34][36]

  • Are contents and amounts stated on the product?

no archived product page or label was read; flower is listed by strain, tier and weight, drinks by mg

  • No disease claims, no 'safe', no borrowed botanical names for synthetic compounds?

'lab-tested. clean.' on the banner; the certificates read test cannabinoids only

    Evidence: [1][29]

  • Pattern of complaints about orders not arriving, long delays, no tracking?

139 of 10,283 r/LitFarms titles are about a delay or a missing label, 48 about a parcel that never came or was seized

    Evidence: [17][15][18][16]

  • Pattern of complaints about wrong, inert, contaminated or mislabelled product?

113 titles raise mould, most as a question; 18 report a wrong or relabelled strain

    Evidence: [20][22][21][16]

  • Chargebacks refused, refunds unanswered, processors dropped?

no returns; buyers report refusal of refunds for orders not yet shipped

    Evidence: [46][17]

  • Warning letters, seizures, lawsuits, attorney-general actions, platform bans?

no docket, recall or warning letter found under LIT Farms or Lost In Translation

    Evidence: [40][41][42]

  • Is there any attempt to keep minors out?

a click-through 21+ prompt and a 21+ line in the footer; the terms ask only for the age of majority

    Evidence: [1][3]

  • Does it say what the legal status of what it sells is, honestly, where it ships?

excluded states listed and a delta-9 statement; nothing on the pages read about the federal change to total THC

    Evidence: [9][1][44][45]

The long read

Who they say they are, and what the record says

The shop at litfarms.com calls itself LIT Farms, and its pages are signed by the name the letters stand for. The copyright line in the footer reads "2026 lost in translation".[1] The privacy policy names the operator in full: "lost in translation inc 1000 n division street suite 201 carson city nv 89709 3928".[2] The terms say the site "is operated by lost in translation".[3] Lost In Translation also owns a second domain, lostintranslation.store, which the privacy policy names and which shares litfarms.com's pair of Cloudflare name servers.[4][5]

The domain is older than the flower. litfarms.com was registered on 25 March 2017.[5] The first archived home page, from September 2019, is a seed shop: "you can t lose when you re growing with the best genetics".[6] By November 2022 it sold "official lost in translation hemp seed packs" and hats, introduced itself with "we are a family of hemp pioneers", and gave an office address, "160 w huffaker lane reno nv 89511".[7] The shop announced flower in its own subreddit in February 2024: it was "going to have thca flower in stock soon and available from litfarms com". The same post says "we never take payment over social media".[8] By 1 January 2025 the store was a Shopify shop signed "2025 lost in translation powered by shopify".[9]

The litfarms.com home page in November 2022: a LIT Lost in Translation logo, a welcome text calling the business a family of hemp pioneers, and a Halloween seed drop.
Figure 1. litfarms.com in November 2022, before it sold flower: a seed shop under the LIT, Lost in Translation logo, announcing a Halloween drop of seed packs. The footer, below this view, gave an office address in Reno, Nevada. [7]

Three trademark applications bear the name. One for LIT FARMS for "agricultural seeds for planting" was filed on 11 March 2022 by an individual in Reno, Nevada.[10] Two applications filed on 29 October 2025, for clothing, smoking accessories and online retail, name a different owner, "lineo llc", at "po box 2695 granite bay california", and claim "first use dec 13 2017".[11] Neither file names Lost In Translation Inc. The shop's own certificates join the names up. A February 2024 certificate from Capitol Analysis is issued to "lit farms" at "po box 2695 granite bay ca 95646",[12] the box on the 2025 trademark files. Certificates from Badger Labs in 2025 and 2026 are prepared for "lost in translation llc 160 w huffaker ln reno nv 89511", the office address of the 2022 seed shop.[13]

Two certificate headers: Badger Labs, prepared for Lost In Translation LLC, 160 W Huffaker Ln, Reno, NV, received 8/29/2025; Capitol Analysis, client Lit Farms, PO Box 2695, Granite Bay, CA, received 02/20/2024.
Figure 2. Two of the certificates in the shop's library, headers only. The client is Lost In Translation LLC at the Reno office in 2025, and Lit Farms at a Granite Bay post office box in 2024. That box is the address on the 2025 LIT FARMS trademark applications. [13]

There is also a licensed marijuana brand called Lost in Translation, sold through state dispensaries. In February 2022 the multistate operator Ayr Wellness announced "exclusive access to a robust and innovative bank of existing and future cannabis genetics from lost in translation llc" and "exclusive access to the lit brand one of the top selling flower brands in nevada".[14] The hemp shop's home page sells "the same legendary genetics and signature freshness that made LIT Farms famous".[1] The hemp shop's certificates name a Lost In Translation LLC in Reno; Ayr's release names a Lost in Translation LLC as the source of the genetics. We did not read a state registration for either, so whether they are one company, and how either relates to Lost In Translation Inc, is not established here. A buyer who wrote of the Florida medical market that the dispensary chains there "always supported lit" took them for one business.[15]

What they sell

THCA flower, sorted into four tiers named on every page: Essential, Preferred, Supreme and Smalls. The home page offers "top shelf thca flower at unbeatable prices".[1] The store's product list on 7 October 2026 held 492 entries. Apart from five drinks and the merchandise, every one was a strain of THCA flower. THCA is the acid form of THC that turns into THC when it is heated, so flower sold as THCA is smoked for the same effect as cannabis.

Delta-9 THC drinks, seltzers and lemonades, among them a "50mg strawberry lemonade".[1]

Earlier lines. Hemp seed packs of named crosses from 2019 to 2022, each described as "each hemp seed contains less than 0 3 thc to comply with all federal regulations".[7] In 2024 buyers in r/LitFarms discussed the shop's gummies, at 10 to 25 mg a piece, and free gummies packed with orders; by November 2024 they were asking where the gummies had gone.[16]

No mushroom products. We searched the 492 product addresses, the home pages of 2025 and 2026, and the titles of all 10,283 posts in r/LitFarms for mushroom, shroom, psilocybin, amanita, tryptamine and DMT. None names a mushroom or tryptamine product sold by this shop.[16]

Figure 4. The home page in October 2026, screenshotted on the 7th. The four tiers run across the top, an age prompt asks visitors to click that they are over 21, and the text below says the flower has 'the same legendary genetics' that made LIT Farms famous. [1]

The site says where it will not ship: "this product is not available for shipment to the following states", a list that includes California and Nevada.[9] The banner across the top of the same pages says "California quality".[1]

What buyers report

Buyers talk about LIT Farms in its own subreddit, r/LitFarms, which holds 10,283 posts from 22 April 2021 to 6 October 2026. We pulled every one through the Arctic Shift archive on 7 October 2026 and sorted the titles by keyword.[16] Posts per month rose from about 25 in early 2024 to 1,063 in January 2025 and fell to 38 in September 2026. A title count is a floor and a rough one: it misses complaints with neutral titles, and it counts a question as a complaint. The threads quoted below were read in full.

Most posts are strain photographs and reviews. 2,730 titles name a tier.

subject in the title posts 2024 2025 2026
mould or bud rot 113 17 86 10
shipping label not made, delay, no tracking 139 25 99 15
never arrived, missing, stolen, seized 48 5 37 6
refund or chargeback 58 13 43 2
the word "scam" 28 5 17 6
wrong strain, relabelled bag 18 0 15 3
banned from the subreddit or post removed 18 2 12 4

Delivery. The longest delivery thread, with 104 comments, began on 13 January 2026 with an order that had no shipping label after a week. One commenter wrote "i asked for a cancellation and refund and got hit with all sales final".[17] A January 2025 buyer said the parcel "was sent to a different city".[15] Buyers whose parcels were seized report different outcomes. One wrote "my package was seized and lit sent me a gift card" and said they would not order again.[18] Another, the same day, wrote that the "package got intercepted by usps and i got same day support".[19]

Quality. Most of the 113 mould titles are a buyer asking whether what they see is mould. Some are firmer. A buyer with a Grape Zkittlez Supreme in October 2025 wrote that support said the spot was a seed, and that "cs had the nerve to try and tell me this was a seed".[20] Two buyers report strains other than the one on the label. One "ordered cherry runtz but it had a sticker underneath that said jet fuel".[21] Another, in September 2026, ordered a Supreme strain and wrote "i truly believe this is a preferred tier not supreme like i ordered"; support, the buyer says, "offered 100 off next order then 200 off".[22] A June 2026 buyer of Smalls wrote "this is not lit bubblebath smalls".[23]

Praise is in the same threads. "I buy 3 supreme zips a month never an issue," wrote one commenter in July 2026, and another in the same thread said they "also promote them and get my check monthly like clock work".[24] The second commenter, by their own account, is paid by the shop. Commenters in the mould thread accused "lit employees" of using new accounts "to downvote the mold comments".[20] We could not check that.

Removed posts. Eighteen titles complain of a ban or a deleted post. A buyer banned in December 2025 wrote that the moderators said the photos came from the internet, "so apparently i took them photos from off the internet even though i took them".[25] Who moderates r/LitFarms is not shown in the archive.

Lab results

Every product page links a certificate of analysis, and a library page lists them by strain.[26] The files sit in a Shopify file store, 0770/2062/7285. The archive holds 132 different certificate files from that store, captured between February 2025 and June 2026, and we read all of them.[27]

  • Badger Labs, Stevens Point, Wisconsin: 76 certificates, prepared for Lost In Translation LLC, received in 2025 and 2026.[13]
  • Marin Analytics, Novato, California: 45 certificates, every one with a 2024 submission date. Twenty name Lost In Translation as the client, twenty name Fresh Bros, another online seller of THCA flower, and five name other growers.
  • Others: eleven, from Capitol Analysis of Olympia, Washington, PSI Labs, Excelbis Labs and labs we did not identify.

Three of the 132 include a contaminant test, two from PSI Labs and one from Excelbis. The other 129 test cannabinoids, and some moisture, only. None of those tests mould, yeast, pesticides or heavy metals. Buyers have noticed the age of the Marin certificates. One asked whether to trust "a coa from 2024" used for over a year.[28]

The Wedding Cake certificate. A poster in r/hempflowers questioned it in August 2025 (see Allegations). The lab is Marin Analytics. The client printed at the top is not LIT Farms but Fresh Bros. The header reads "fresh bros sample 725 121224 010 wedding cake hybrid sample submitted 12 12 2024 report date 02 20 2024".[29] The report date is ten months before the submission date. The certificate tests cannabinoids only. It gives a calculated total THC of 20.94 per cent, worked out as "calculated total thc delta 9 thc 0 877 thca".[29] There is no test for mould, yeast, heavy metals, pesticides or residual solvents.

Marin Analytics certificate for Wedding Cake hybrid hemp flower, client Fresh Bros, sample 725-121224-010, submitted 12-12-2024, report date 02-20-2024, calculated total THC 20.94%.
Figure 6. The Wedding Cake certificate linked from LIT Farms' product page. The client is Fresh Bros, another online vendor. The report date, 20 February 2024, is ten months before the stated submission date, 12 December 2024. It tests cannabinoids only. [29]

Fresh Bros publishes its own copy. Its header reads "sample 725 071224 010 1 fresh bros wedding cake hybrid sample submitted 07 12 2024 report date 07 20 2024".[30] Every result on the two copies is the same, to the third decimal: THCA 23.604, delta-9 THC 0.241, CBGA 0.475, CBG 0.089, THCVa 0.256, total THC 20.94.[29][30] The chromatogram printed on both, the trace from the instrument, carries the same caption, a run file stamped "2024-02-12 11-44-34". That is 12 February 2024, before either stated submission date.

Three strips: the header of LIT Farms' copy (sample 725-121224-010, submitted 12-12-2024), the header of Fresh Bros' copy (sample 725-071224-010-1, submitted 07-12-2024), and the chromatogram caption on both, a run file dated 2024-02-12 11-44-34.
Figure 7. The two copies of the Wedding Cake certificate, headers stacked, with the chromatogram caption both carry. Sample numbers and dates differ. Every result is the same, and both chromatograms name one instrument run, on 12 February 2024. [30]

On the Marin certificates whose dates agree with each other, the middle of the sample number is the submission date, for example "sample 725 021224 003 lemon cherry gelato hybrid sample submitted 02 12 2024 report date 02 20 2024".[31] Read that way, the run of 12 February 2024 belongs to sample 725-021224-010, a number neither copy carries. Two certificates with different sample numbers cannot both be unaltered records of different samples when they share one instrument run. Neither stated submission date matches that run, and LIT Farms' copy reports before it was submitted. The documents do not show who changed which, or what the lab first issued. They do show that the certificate linked from LIT Farms' product page was not issued to LIT Farms and does not record a sample taken when its dates say.

Wedding Cake is not alone in the library. Platinum OG carries the same pair of dates: "fresh bros sample 725 121224 012 platinum og indica sample submitted 12 12 2024 report date 02 20 2024".[32] Two more keep a February sample number under summer dates: "fresh bros sample 725 021224 015 1 rainbow sherbert hybrid sample submitted 08 12 2024"[33] and "sample 725 021224 031 1 fresh bros la kush cake indica sample submitted 06 21 2024".[34]

In r/LitFarms, buyers read the certificates for the grower's name: "do yall look at who grown the plant before yall order".[28] A November 2025 post that drew 177 comments, by a buyer who says they handle lab samples for a medical cannabis firm, said the shop "provides a coa for their products but does not test their products for arguably the most important panels of lab testing", and a commenter said they had emailed the shop and "asked for the full safety panels not just potency".[35] The library agrees: 129 of 132 test potency only.

Allegations: who says what, why, and what we could check

This section sets out four claims. For each it gives who makes it, what we could check, and how it stands. Nobody is named inside an allegation, and no allegation changes the score on its own.

1. That LIT Farms edits its lab reports. Who: a Reddit user in r/hempflowers, 4 August 2025, with no stated interest. Commenters in that subreddit answered that it is for CBD flower and the post did not belong there. What: comparing the Wedding Cake certificate on the product page with Fresh Bros' copy, the poster wrote "so it seems the original sample submission date was actually july 12 2024 not december".[36] A reply objected: "did u even notice they have different sample numbers".[36] What we checked: both PDFs, read on 7 October 2026. How it stands: the poster's facts hold. The objection does not settle it, because the results are identical and both chromatograms name one run, in February 2024 (see Lab results). Which copy was changed, and by whom, the documents do not say. The shop's copy is the one with a report date before its submission date.

2. That a card used at the shop was then misused. Who: one buyer, 19 February 2026, who says the card was used only at LIT Farms and a coffee chain. What: "all of a sudden i get a call that my card is being used".[37] A commenter wrote, "the vendors are frauds but their security just sucks", meaning they did not think the vendor itself was a fraud.[37] What we checked: we found no report of a data breach at the shop. How it stands: one account, with no second report under that subject in 10,283 titles. Unresolved.

3. That bags are relabelled or swapped. Who: the buyers quoted under Quality, 18 titles in all. What: a sticker over a sticker, and tiers that look like the tier below.[21][22] What we checked: the photographs are in the threads, and the shop's offer of credit in one is reported by the buyer. How it stands: buyers' accounts. No lab or regulator has looked.

4. That critics are banned. Who: 18 posts by buyers who say they were banned or had posts removed. What: see Removed posts. How it stands: the posts exist; who removed what, and why, is not in the archive.

If you bought from LIT Farms, hold one of its certificates, or know who grows its flower, rate the shop below and leave a note, or comment on the thread at the foot of this page.

A lookalike store

On 27 August 2026 someone registered litfarmsofficial.com through a Czech registrar.[38] By October it was a working shop under the LIT Farms name. At least 51 of its 151 image files carry the same file names as images on litfarms.com's home page, and its footer is litfarms.com's word for word, misspelling included, down to "DO NOT GET SCAMMED! BEWARE OF IMPOSTERS!". The one change is the email, Sales@litfarmsofficial.com in place of info@litfarms.com.[39][1] Its prices are lower, and its page heading is a list of search phrases such as "is lit farm legit" and "lit farm coupon code reddit".[39] It is a WordPress shop where litfarms.com is a Shopify one, and its domain sits with a different registrar. We found nothing that ties it to Lost In Translation. A reader looking for LIT Farms should know that a second store wears its name.

The home page of litfarmsofficial.com in October 2026: a red LIT FARMS header, LIT-branded drink cans, and a block of search phrases such as 'is lit farm legit' and 'lit farm coupon code reddit'.
Figure 8. litfarmsofficial.com on 7 October 2026, a domain registered on 27 August 2026. It carries LIT Farms' name, product photographs and drinks, under a heading stuffed with search phrases. It is not litfarms.com. [39]

Two columns of text: the footer of litfarms.com and the footer of litfarmsofficial.com, word for word the same, including the misspelling 'Deta-9-THC' and the line 'DO NOT GET SCAMMED! BEWARE OF IMPOSTERS!', except for the email address.
Figure 9. The two stores' footers, copied out from each page and set as text. They match word for word, misspelling included. Only the email differs: info@litfarms.com on one, Sales@litfarmsofficial.com on the other. [39]

Marketing

The banner on the home page repeats "lab tested clean" and "quality you can trust".[1] Of the 132 certificates in the shop's library, 129 test cannabinoids and nothing else, so they can show neither that the flower is clean nor that it is not.[27]

Regulatory and legal

CourtListener's federal docket search returned no record for "lit farms", "litfarms" or "lost in translation inc" on 7 October 2026.[40] openFDA's enforcement records hold no recall under "Lit Farms" or "Lost In Translation",[41] and an fda.gov search found no warning letter under either name.[42]

Legal status. The pages say "this product contains a total delta 9 thc concentration that does not exceed 0 3 on a dry weight basis".[9] The federal definition of hemp in force since 2018 sets the limit on delta-9 THC alone: "with a delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than 0 3 percent on a dry weight basis".[43] The Wedding Cake certificate shows 0.241% delta-9 THC and 20.94% calculated total THC.[29] Congress changed the definition in November 2025, "changing the limit to a total thc concentration of less than 0 3 on a dry weight basis rather than only delta 9 thc", and set a separate limit for finished products, which excludes those "containing more than 0 4 milligrams of thc per container".[44] The shop sells a "50mg strawberry lemonade".[1] The change was due on 12 November 2026; an act signed in September moved most of it to 11 December 2026: "section 781 extension until december 11 2026".[45] The pages we read do not mention it.

Age. The home page opens with a prompt to click that the visitor is over 21, and the footer says "for adults age 21 only".[1] The terms ask only that a buyer is "at least the age of majority".[3] The pages we read do not describe an ID check at checkout.

Refunds. The refunds page in September 2025 said "unfortunately lit does not offer returns at this time", and offered a "customer satisfaction guarantee" by email.[46] One buyer quoted above asked to cancel an order that had not shipped and was refused.[17]

Still open

  • The registration behind Lost In Translation Inc. The name and the Carson City address are the shop's own. Its officers and filing date were not read.
  • Lineo, LLC. The California LLC that filed the 2025 trademark applications shares a post office box with the "Lit Farms" named on a 2024 certificate. Its relation to Lost In Translation Inc is not shown by any document we read.
  • The licensed brand. Whether the hemp shop and the Lost in Translation brand that Ayr licenses share owners.
  • Who grows the flower. The 2024 certificates name Lost In Translation, Fresh Bros and five other clients; the 2025 and 2026 ones name Lost In Translation LLC. A client is whoever sent the sample, not necessarily the grower.
  • What Marin Analytics issued. The lab's own record of sample 725-021224-010 would show which copy of the Wedding Cake certificate, if either, is the original.
  • Labels. No archived product page or label photograph was read, so the labelling criterion is unscored.
