  • Is there an identifiable legal operator: a registered name, a jurisdiction, an address that resolves?

Alternative Ventures LLC, a Wyoming company, on the terms, the certificates, two trademark filings and a federal complaint; no person named as its principal

    Evidence: [5][8][9][10][2]

  • How long has it operated, by evidence: first archive capture, domain registration, oldest attributable post?

selling since early 2024 by its own trademark filing

  • Does it publish third-party certificates of analysis for what it sells?

eight certificates from two laboratories, the latest from April 2025; none for the products sold after mid-2025, and the Red OH certificate does not test for pseudoindoxyl

    Evidence: [57][32][7][58]

  • Where there are results, do they agree with the label, the marketing and the reported effects?

fifteen of fifteen independent results below the label; the brand's own certificates fall short on every 40 mg and 60 mg product and show no 7-OH in Red OH

    Evidence: [63][65][7][58][62]

  • Are contents and amounts stated on the product?

milligrams stated; pseudoindoxyl sold under the name 'Red OH'; 25 to 28 mg of mitragynine in the Super Hulks not on the label; a 2026 'Super Hulks' bottle holding mitragynine

    Evidence: [68][18][9][24][31]

  • Pattern of complaints about orders not arriving, long delays, no tracking?

orders from its September 2024 promotion waited ten days and more; the brand said it was not prepared; nearly all buyers buy in shops

    Evidence: [76][75][74]

  • Pattern of complaints about wrong, inert, contaminated or mislabelled product?

11 of 97 threads on tablets that looked wrong or counterfeit, 6 on weak tablets, 5 on harm, against 19 of praise

  • Chargebacks refused, refunds unanswered, processors dropped?

no thread about payment found in 1,112 posts

  • Warning letters, seizures, lawsuits, attorney-general actions, platform bans?

a federal consumer class action since January 2025, unresolved in the record we read; its trademark refused as unlawful use under the FDCA; no FDA warning letter

    Evidence: [9][78][79][65][15][81]

  • Is there any attempt to keep minors out?

a date-of-birth gate at 21 on the site; terms at 18; the product itself sold over shop counters

    Evidence: [85][5][16]

  • Does it say what the legal status of what it sells is, honestly, where it ships?

a list of places where kratom is banned and, from 2025, a dependence warning; nothing on FDA's position on 7-OH

    Evidence: [16][24][9]

The long read

Who they say they are, and what the record says

Press'd is a brand of 7-OH tablets, the concentrated kratom-derived opioid, sold on the counters of smoke shops and gas stations since early 2024 and, for a time, from its own website. Buyers write it Press'd, Pressd or PressD. Its first tablets were round, blue and 18 mg; it later sold “Red OH” (its name for mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, a second opioid made from the kratom alkaloids), mixtures of the two, 40 mg and 60 mg tablets, shots, and bottles. 1,112 posts by 669 accounts in the 7-OH and kratom-alternative subreddits name it (method under What buyers report).[1] In this site's Mystery Products catalogue it is one of the ranked 7-OH shelf brands, and its later cat's-claw tablets have their own entry.

The website was itspressd.com, registered on 2024-02-27 with the owner's details not shown.[2] Its first archived page, in March 2024, read “too press'd to be stressed” and “introducing press d a 1 gram 7 hydroxymitragynine tablet”.[3] The first Reddit post about it, on 2024-04-02, said it “claims to be 18mg per tablet”.[4]

The operator names itself. The terms and conditions begin “we are alternative ventures llc company” and give a mailing address, “1309 coffeen ave sheridan wyoming 82801”; they also say “these terms are governed by the laws of the state of hawaii”.[5] The contact page gave “info itspressd com 949 423 6887”, a southern-California number.[6] The brand's 2024 certificates print San Diego, California under the client's name.[7] Its May 2024 trademark application, filed in the same company's name, gives a mailing address in Woodstock, Georgia, says the company is organised in Wyoming, and claims first use of the mark in commerce on 2024-02-01 for “dietary supplements consisting primarily of mitragynine”.[8] A federal complaint filed in January 2025 names the defendant as “alternative ventures llc doing business as press”, then the brand's name, and calls it a “corporation with its principal place of business in wyoming”.[9] By October 2026 the USPTO's record showed the brand's applications assigned to “alternative holdco llc”, a Wyoming company with a Los Angeles address.[10] No record we read names a person who runs either company.

Buyers have asked who is behind it: “who really owns funds these dubiously named retail brands”, one wrote in June 2025,[11] and another, that the company's “distributors of press'd have their building blurred out on street view”.[12] In April 2024 a buyer posted under the title “7ohmz trademark owner also owns press”, then the brand's name, because one individual had filed for both marks.[13] The record says otherwise. That individual's PRESS'D application was opposed by Alternative Ventures, whose notice says “opposer is not affiliated with or connected with applicant”, and describes the company in its own words: “opposer is a widely recognized dietary supplement and clothing brand operating under the trademark press”, the name following.[8] The applicant did not answer, and in August 2025 “judgment by default is hereby entered against applicant the opposition is sustained”.[14] The 7OHMZ brand's FDA warning letter went to another company, “thang botanicals inc dba 7 hmz 7 ohmz or 7ohmz”.[15]

What they sell

7-OH and Red OH, 2024. The first product was the 18 mg tablet, sold in three-packs and sometimes described as “try our 1 gram tablets available in this package in sets of three”.[16] The company's own first certificate puts each tablet at about 0.56 g, by its own figures (18.55 mg a unit at 33.18 mg/g).[17] In May 2024 the site added Red OH, sold as “experience the next evolution in natural relief with our red oh blend”, “a revolutionary product born from the science of rearrangement”: “our exclusive formula transforms this metabolite of mitragynine into a superior compound that delivers remarkably strong effects”.[18] Buyers read it as five times 7-OH, “if it's 5x the strength of 7oh that's pretty wild”,[19] and a 2025 lawsuit says the brand advertised it that way: “defendant advertises the red oh tablets as” “5x strength of 7 oh”.[9] The Hulk Blend followed: “15mg of 7 hydroxymitragynine and 15mg of red oh pseudo in each 30mg tablet”.[20] Red OH is pseudoindoxyl; the label never used that word.

A white blister card: PRESS'D 30MG, 003 tablets, three green tablets stamped with a P, the words 7 Hydroxymitragynine & Red OH, 6 servings, THE HULK BLEND, tablet net weight .66 grams, and Do not operate heavy machinery printed sideways.

Bigger tablets, 2025. The 40 mg Extra Strength line was sold as “each pack contains 5 convenient tablets delivering 10mg per serving with 20 servings total”,[21] beside 40 mg shots, “each 30ml bottle delivers 40mg of 7 oh two 20mg servings”.[22] The Super Hulks, from spring 2025, said “each 30mg tablet delivers a powerful combo of 30mg 7 hydroxymitragynine and 30mg red oh pseudo”: a 60 mg dose in a tablet the same page calls 30 mg.[23] In May 2025 the home page announced “your favorite press d tabs now available in scripts”, bottles named like prescriptions.[24] By December 2025 buyers found “press'd tablets rainbow sherbet 110mg” in shops,[25] and in 2026 a 250 mg “Max” tablet.[26]

After 7-OH: MGM-15, cat's claw and "Super Mitragynine", 2026. From June 2026 shops carried “press'd ultra 40mg mgm”, MGM-15 tablets; one buyer pointed to “supplement facts where there are 4 doses per tablet”.[27] Another, given a pack, wrote that “my past experiences with press'd hasn't been the best”.[28] In December 2025 a new card appeared and a buyer wrote “i googled the chemical and it comes up as cat claws”.[29] It was Press'd Botanicals, “press'd uriq complex uncaria tomentosa extract”, a buyer having “had to look up what uncaria tomentosa extract was”.[30] A Louisiana buyer understood it as a product for places like his, “louisiana where 7o is banned so this supposed to be a legal alternative”.[31] By May 2026 the cards were the first thing on the brand's home page.[32] In August 2026 came “Super Mitragynine”, listed by a retailer “with akkumma extract and super mitragynine”.[33] A buyer who “bought this thinking it was 7” found that the 7-OH content “says 0 right on the back”;[34] another, who takes it for pain, asked whether it would cause withdrawal: “i have cancer and take for cancer pain”.[35] And in September 2026 a Pennsylvania buyer sold a marked-down bottle of “Press'd Super-Hulks” read the back with a magnifying glass and found he had “bought a bottle of mitragyne pills containing less than 0 007 7 oh per dose”.[36]

Three PRESS'D BOTANICALS blister cards, Grape, Blue Razz and a red one behind, each with round scored tablets; the Blue Razz card reads 300MG TOTAL, 100mg URIQ Complex (Uncaria Tomentosa Extract), 6 servings: 50mg per serving, tablet net weight .66 grams, and Do not operate heavy machinery.

What buyers report

We searched the local Arctic Shift archive of 33 subreddits on 2026-10-17 for Press'd in any spelling (Press'd, Pressd, PressD, with any apostrophe), from 2024-04-02, the first post naming it, to 2026-10-16. 1,112 posts by 669 authors name it, 710 of them in r/7_hydroxymitragynine. The archive holds posts, not comments, and the word “pressed” was not counted. Posts peaked at 121 in September 2024, the month of a one-dollar promotion, and again at 106 in August 2026, when retailers cleared stock before the DEA's order; 158 posts by 92 authors fall in the 90 days to 2026-10-16. 24 posts by 21 accounts, from December 2025, name the cat's-claw or Super Mitragynine tablets. Praise. The praise is mostly about strength and price. One buyer “took hydroxie today and had to take 2 to equal 1 pressd”;[37] another wrote that one 18 mg tablet “still gave euphoria pain relief and long lasting effects”.[38] Some came to it by default: a vendor's customer complained that “ps sent me the pressd pseudo tabs” in place of the ones he ordered.[39]

Tablets that look wrong. In June 2024 a buyer's online order arrived in two kinds: “half look like this and the other half look like this”.[40] In July 2024, of a new Red OH batch, “the tabs were moist and chewy”.[41] In January 2025: “does anyone have a clue why they are bubbling up like that”.[42] In September 2025 a buyer found vitamins in a Press'd bottle; the shop swapped it and said “they had had a guy coming in and returning products”.[43] In August 2026, of Max cards from an online sale, “they seem chalky and weird and definitely do not seem to be dosed properly”,[44] and of 250 mg tablets, “they are very underdosed maybe 150mg tops” and “all 14 packs did not have the tinfoil attached to the plastic blister pack”.[26]

Weak. “I bought press'd like i always do each month”, a buyer wrote in November 2025, and they were no longer hitting the same.[45] In February 2026 a buyer taking what the label added up to, “up to what the bottle says is 1200 1400mg a day”, stopped, felt no withdrawal, and asked “is there a chance theres no fucking 7oh in them”.[46] A buyer who bought in the August 2026 sales told others to “expect them to be about 35 weaker than advertised”, in per cent.[47]

Harm. Five opening posts describe harm. In October 2024 a buyer jailed for five days went through withdrawal; he had been “i was on about 15 tabs a day from vii oo and pressd”.[48] In January 2025 a first-time user wrote that “the press'd brand gave me a dirty feeling”.[49] In March 2025 a buyer of the 40 mg tablet felt sick, and on a second try “it tasted like ammonia”.[50] In May 2025 another took two 40 mg tablets: “that was immediately followed by a huge rush of anxiety stimulation sweating racing heart pinned pupils skin numbness rapid breathing dizziness and nausea”.[51] The same month a user of Red OH, five to ten a day for a back injury, wrote in r/quitting7oh: “i just want my life back”.[52] None of these tablets was tested.

The cat's-claw tablets. A buyer given a free pack, “got a free pack of the grape flavor as a free sample yesterday in the mail”, took three tablets over two days and “i could not even feel anything psychoactive or recreational whatsoever”.[53] Another “ended up eating the whole pack in a couple hours and felt nothing”.[54] One reported the opposite, “the effects were similar to psilocybin”, and “walking around with one regular pupil and one dilated to the max for an hour”.[55] A buyer in Louisiana noticed the card's pitch: “it cracks me up that they are actually marketing these as stronger than 7oh”.[31] r/catsclawtablets put Press'd on its “official bunk list” in September 2026.[56]

Lab results

The site's lab page, “lab results thoroughly tested to the highest standards”,[57] linked eight certificates from 2024 to mid-2025, the same eight still linked from the wholesale page in May 2026.[32] We opened all eight.

The brand's own certificates. The first, from Infinite Chemical Analysis Labs in San Diego in April 2024, reports 18.55 mg of 7-OH in an 18 mg tablet.[17] The Red OH certificate from the same laboratory, completed in July 2024, reports no 7-OH, 3.48 mg of mitragynine a tablet and a trace of speciociliatine. Its alkaloid panel does not include pseudoindoxyl, the compound Red OH is sold on, so the certificate says nothing about it either way.[7] From February 2025 the certificates come from NN Analytics, also in San Diego. The 40 mg Extra Strength Original reports 35.54 mg of 7-OH, the Mint 31.41 mg and the White Grape 32.20 mg, each with 1.6 to 2.2 mg of pseudoindoxyl the label does not mention.[58][59][60] The Dragon Fruit Super Hulks certificate reports 30.52 mg of 7-OH and 22.21 mg of pseudoindoxyl, 52.73 mg of a 60 mg claim, and 28.46 mg of mitragynine.[61] The certificate the site linked as Green Apple Super Hulks names its sample “Press'd Extra Strength Original” while photographing a Green Apple Super Hulks card; it reports 25.94 mg of 7-OH, 19.82 mg of pseudoindoxyl and 25.08 mg of mitragynine.[62]

The kratom alkaloid profile reads 7-Hydroxymitragynine ND, mitragynine 3.4849 mg per unit, speciociliatine 0.2015 mg per unit, total 3.6864 mg per unit.
Figure 3. The brand's own certificate for Red OH, 2024: no 7-OH detected, 3.5 mg of mitragynine a tablet, and no test for pseudoindoxyl, the compound the product is sold on. [7]

Target 7OH-Mitragynine plus pseudoindoxyl 60 mg; results mitragynine 25.08, pseudoindoxyl 19.82, 7OH-mitragynine 25.94 mg per unit.
Figure 5. The certificate the site linked as Green Apple Super Hulks names its sample 'Press'd Extra Strength Original' and photographs a Green Apple card. 7-OH and pseudoindoxyl together come to 45.76 mg of a 60 mg claim, beside 25 mg of mitragynine. [62]

Independent tests. TestMyKratom, a community testing service, published fifteen results on eight Press'd products between July 2024 and November 2025.[63] None reached its label.

In its words: “press'd red oh tablets contained almost no 7 hydroxy”; “press d hulk blend tablets contained 7 7mg of 7 hydroxy which was about 49 weaker than its 15mg claim”; “press d hulk blend tablets contained 17 20mg of combined 7 hydroxy and pseudo which was about 43 weaker than its 30mg claim”; “press d extra strength mint tablets contained 20 20mg of 7 hydroxy which was about 50 weaker than its 40mg claim”; “press d red oh tablets contained 12 34mg of pseudo which was about 31 weaker than its 18mg claim”; “press d dragon fruit super hulks tablets contained 38 43mg of combined 7 hydroxy and pseudo which was about 36 weaker than their 60mg claim”.[63] (The weaker-by figures are percentages; the archived page drops the sign.) TestMyKratom later sold tablets of its own (see the Omega Extrax dossier); its results are cited here as results. A buyer who wrote to Press'd after the March 2025 results reported that the brand answered that “the extra strength tabs tested at 43mgs”; no such certificate was linked from its site.[64]

The State of Texas tested a Hulk Blend card bought from a California retailer in March 2026: “tddc found that each tablet contained 7 56 mg of 7 oh and 8 80 mg of mp”, 16.36 mg of the two in a tablet sold as 30 mg.[65] An earlier community test of the blue tablet, in June 2024, drew the reply “at least these are actually made of real 7oh”.[66] In October 2026 a buyer still wrote of a Press'd White Grape tablet that “i find these white grape might be a bit less than 40mg”.[67]

Page 17 of the State of Texas petition: a Press'd 30MG card of three tablets labelled 7 Hydroxymitragynine and Red OH, The Hulk Blend, and paragraphs reporting 7.56 mg of 7-OH and 8.80 mg of MP per tablet.
Figure 6. The Hulk Blend card the State of Texas bought from a retailer in March 2026. Its laboratory found 16.36 mg of the two compounds in a 30 mg tablet. [65]

No certificate was found on the site, in its archived copies to May 2026, or on Reddit for the 110 mg, Max 250 mg, Ultra MGM-15, Press'd Botanicals or Super Mitragynine tablets.

If you bought Press'd and had it tested, rate it below or comment on the thread at the foot of this page.

Marketing

The home page in 2024 listed effects as medical claims: “sedation at higher doses it may induce sedation making it helpful for those with insomnia or anxiety”, and “mood elevation it can have mood enhancing effects potentially alleviating symptoms of depression”.[68] Red OH was “natural relief” from a compound the same page says is made by rearrangement.[18] The blue 18 mg tablet looked to buyers like a counterfeit oxycodone pill. Of the branding one wrote “i know the marketing is super fucked up”, and that “i know ppl who died from those dirty 30”, the street name for counterfeit 30 mg oxycodone tablets;[69] another refused brands “making them look like fent pills”.[66] The bottles were called Scripts.[24]

In September 2024 the brand's Reddit account ran a one-dollar code for packs of tablets, “we wanted to test the waters and see how the response was”.[70] One buyer wrote that “pressd just shipped 800 dollars in tabs to me for 28 dollars”, and added “there probably bunk”.[71] In August 2026, before the DEA's order took effect, a retailer offered Press'd at “the deal is buy 1 get 9 free”.[72] One of those orders arrived in a manufacturer's carton: “kures sent my package with a big ass pressd logo” on it.[73]

Orders

Nearly everyone buys Press'd in a shop, so few threads are about the brand's own deliveries. The one-dollar promotion produced most of them: a buyer's tracking “says pre shipment awaiting item”,[74] and ten days on, “anyone still waiting for their press'd tabs from the second 1 sale”.[75] The brand's account wrote that orders had now shipped and “we had a massive influx of sales during this process”, and that it had not been prepared.[76] A buyer refused at checkout over his state was told by the brand's Reddit account that “this guy says that it's not legal where i am”, a state the site did not list.[77] The terms say “all sales are final”.[5]

Regulatory and legal

A class action. On 2025-01-06 two buyers, represented by Bursor & Fisher and Lynch Carpenter, sued Alternative Ventures in the Central District of California on behalf of a class of buyers of the blue, Red OH and Hulk Blend tablets. The complaint alleges that “nowhere on the packaging does defendant mention that 7 oh presents the” same addiction risks as other opioids, and claims under California's consumer-protection laws, implied warranty, unjust enrichment and fraud by omission.[9] The company moved to dismiss in 2025; in July 2025 the court vacated the scheduling conference until it ruled on that motion. The later docket entries we read carry no description, so whether the court has ruled or the case settled is not in the record we read.[78]

The trademark. On 2026-05-06 the USPTO's examining attorney made final the refusal to register PRESS'D for the company. The first ground is that the goods are a “per se violation of the federal food drug and cosmetic act”, because mitragynine is a new dietary ingredient sold without the required notice; the examiner noted that “applicant has not provided arguments or evidence against this refusal”. The second is that the specimen shows “dietary supplement tablets containing 18mg of 7 hydroxymitragynine derived from the kratom plant” while the application names mitragynine.[79] An extension to respond was granted in May 2026.[10]

Page two of a USPTO final Office action dated May 6, 2026: the introduction, a summary of issues listing a Sections 1 and 45 refusal for Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act unlawful use, a deficient specimen and likelihood of confusion, and the start of the unlawful-use section.

Federal agencies. On 2025-07-15 FDA “announced seven recent warning letters sent to companies for illegally marketing products containing 7 hydroxymitragynine”; none went to Press'd or Alternative Ventures.[15] On 2026-07-06 the DEA gave notice that it intends to place 7-OH above a set threshold in Schedule I.[80] On 2026-08-26 its temporary order placed mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, MGM-15 and MGM-16 in Schedule I,[81] which covers Red OH, the Hulk Blend, the Super Hulks and the Ultra MGM-15 tablets. A notice of 2026-10-14 adds pseudoindoxyl to the 7-OH proposal.[82] In the weeks before the order a buyer found that at his shop “all 7 was gone”.[83]

The site. From September 2025 itspressd.com read “down for maintenance press'd down for maintenance wholesale inquiry”,[84] and by May 2026 it read “your favorite press d tabs now available in scripts wholesale inquiry”: a wholesale form, the eight old certificates and the Botanicals cards.[32]

What the site said about risk and age. The site opened behind a date-of-birth box set at 21,[85] while the terms say “the services are intended for users who are at least 18 years old”[5] and the product pages “the products are not for use by or sale to persons under the age of 18 and 21 where applicable”. The same pages listed places where it would not ship, “kratom is banned in the following areas alabama arkansas indiana rhode island vermont”, and more.[16] From 2025 the home page carried a warning, “regular use of alkaloids may lead to dependence and addiction for some users”, that “there are anecdotal reports of people developing an addiction to alkaloid products”, and “not for sale to minors 21 only”.[24] The complaint says that until late 2024 the packaging carried no warning about addiction.[9] None of these pages mentions FDA's position on 7-OH.

The itspressd.com home page in September 2024 behind a white box with the PRESS'D logo, reading You Must Be 21 To Access This Website, Are You Legally Old Enough To Visit This Site?, with month, day and year fields and an Enter button.

Still open

Who owns Alternative Ventures LLC and Alternative Holdco LLC. Both are Wyoming companies; the records we read give mailing addresses in Wyoming, Georgia and California and name no member.

Whether the federal class action has been decided or settled. The last entries with a description, in July 2025, leave the motion to dismiss pending.

What is in the Press'd Botanicals and Super Mitragynine tablets. The card names cat's-claw extract; a retailer's listing named akuamma; no certificate for either was found.

Whether the certificate filed as Green Apple Super Hulks is that product's. Its sample name is another product's.
