What goes in News

This section is for things happening in the world that a reader here needs to know about. It is not the site's changelog — that lives in Project.

Things that belong here:

• Adulterant and supply warnings. A batch circulating with something in it that is not supposed to be there, a region reporting a spike in overdoses, a testing service publishing results that change what a substance is likely to contain.
• Scheduling and legal changes, in any jurisdiction, with a link to the instrument itself rather than to coverage of it.
• Research that changes practice. Not every paper — the ones that would change what a person does.
• Availability of harm reduction services: naloxone access, drug checking, supervised consumption, prescribing changes.

Things that do not belong here:

• Anything about buying, selling, or where to get something.
• Drug-war news with no practical consequence for a reader.
• Single anecdotal reports presented as a trend. One report is an experience — post it in the relevant Experiences section, where it is useful and correctly labelled.

Sourcing

Link the primary source. A warning that cannot be traced to a health authority, a testing service, a coroner's report or a named laboratory is a rumour, and rumours about adulterated supply are actively harmful in both directions — they get ignored when true, and they get acted on when false.

If something is urgent and unverified, say that it is unverified in the title. That is a legitimate post; a false certainty is not.

How the official stories get here

The site watches the Federal Register itself — including documents on public inspection, which are visible before they formally print. Each legal event becomes one story, dated to the day it happened, citing the instrument rather than coverage of it.

A story is not edited after the fact. When an action moves — a proposal becomes an order, a temporary placement becomes permanent — that is a new dated story, and the old one stands as the record of what was true the day it ran. A feed that quietly rewrites its history is not a record of anything.

The Legal sections on molecule pages are tied to the same watch: when an instrument a page cites moves, that page is flagged for rewriting rather than left to go quietly stale.
