Nordic Chems: the "research use only" shop that inherited LiftMode's phenibut buyers and sells tianeptine by the capsule

Which Nordic

The request was for a dossier on "Nordic Labs". There are several. A sports-supplement brand of that name sells SARMs and peptides through British shops and turns up in a handful of r/SARMs and r/Peptides posts. A Nordic Labs LLC in Montana tests cannabis. There is a Canadian Nordica Labs, a Danish maker of laboratory freezers and a Swedish lab-supply firm. None of them is what the phenibut and tianeptine communities mean when they write "Nordic". They mean Nordic Chems, nordicchems.is, named in 132 r/phenibut posts in 2026 and in r/Tianeptine.[1] In February 2026 one buyer set out the succession: "it went lift mode nootropics depot science bio now it goes nordic".[2] This dossier is about Nordic Chems.

Who they say they are, and what the record says

The store presents itself as Scandinavian. Its home page in February 2026 shows bottles of tianeptine and phenibut on a snowy shore under a mountain. The text says "we specialize in providing high quality chemical reference materials for research purposes".[3] The domain is Icelandic.

The rest of the record points elsewhere. The banner promised "usa domestic delivery and same day shipping", and the home page says "produced in the usa all our compounds are manufactured in certified u s labs".[3] The terms say the site belongs to NordicChem LLC, "a limited liability company organized under the laws of the state of wyoming".[4] The footer gives one street address, "818 cajundome blvd lafayette la 70506", and a telephone number with a Northern Virginia area code.[3] No page names a person. The store ships only to the United States and Canada: "we currently only ship within the united states and canada".[5]

Iceland's registry says nordicchems.is was registered on 5 May 2025. The registrant's handle was created three days earlier, and its address in the record is two letters, "TN".[6] The terms took effect on 25 May 2025.[4] The first Reddit post we found naming the store is from October 2025, in r/Tianeptine, and the archive's first capture is from February 2026.[1][3]

What it sells

Seven products in February 2026, all labelled "Research use only, Not for human consumption", and a footer saying "products are not for human consumption of any kind".[3]

Tianeptine. The best seller on the home page was tianeptine sulfate, "tianeptine sulfate capsules 30 count", offered as "25mg capsules 50mg capsules 100mg capsules 350mg capsules", beside a 10 g jar of tianeptine sodium powder.[7] Tianeptine is an antidepressant licensed in some countries and never approved in the United States. The page says the product "is not intended for human or animal consumption ingestion administration medical use or dietary supplementation", that "each unit contains a nominal reference mass of the compound", and that these masses "do not represent dosage or administration guidance".[7] A reader may ask what else a 350 mg capsule is for. A review printed under the listing answers: "i need a lot less of it than from other sources".[7]

The page's chemistry block is for a different salt. Under tianeptine sulfate it gives "cas 30123 17 2 pubchem cid 23663954" and "molecular weight 458 9 g mol", with an IUPAC name that begins "sodium".[7] Those are the identifiers of tianeptine sodium. The two salts differ in weight per milligram of tianeptine, so a buyer who doses by the label cannot tell from this page which one is in the bottle.

Phenibut. A 50 g jar of phenibut HCl and capsules of 250 and 500 mg, with the same words: "is not intended for human or animal consumption ingestion administration medical use or dietary supplementation".[8] The first r/phenibut thread about the store, in January 2026, opened with a screenshot of that jar and the note "they sell 50g for 25". One reply came from a buyer who had tried the tianeptine instead: "i stupidly bought tia from them spur of the moment".[9]

The rest. The prescription antidepressant agomelatine, sold as "agomelatine 25mg capsule 30 capsules" and as a solution, and two racetams, aniracetam and pramiracetam.[3]

How the store is found. The archive holds 74 of the store's collection pages. Six are ordinary categories. Fifteen are named for phenibut. Fifty-three are named for tianeptine, from "cheap-tianeptine" to "buy-tianeptine-usa".[10] Each repeats the catalogue under a different search phrase. The cheap one is titled "cheap tianeptine buy 99 pure lab chemicals online" and ends "sold exclusively for laboratory research not a dietary supplement".[11]

What buyers report

We read every r/phenibut post in the local archive from January 2024 to 11 October 2026, 6,972 posts, and searched 36 other subreddits for "nordic" on 2026-10-11.[1] 132 r/phenibut posts name the store, all of them in 2026: 3 in January, 22 in February, 23 in March, then between 7 and 18 a month. We read every thread with ten or more comments and every one a keyword pass flagged for delivery, payment or a weak product.

Spring 2026: the new standard. Buyers who missed LiftMode found a substitute. "my absolute favorite since liftmode", one wrote in February; another, that "nordic seems to be the one that has any semblance of that past euphoria".[12][2] Delivery reports are quick and we found no thread about an order that never came.[9]

Late summer 2026: the powder changes. From about August the tone turned. A September thread said the phenibut was "supposed to be crystal but instead is flour like consistency" and did nothing. An October thread said "it no longer arrives in its hcl salt form", and its author added "i suspect its being cut with something".[13][14] Those are buyers' impressions. Nobody posted a test. Replies were split, and one regular wrote "i have had 5 tubs of phenibut from nordic and have had the fluffy powder as well as the crystallized hcl powder from them and they both worked the same".[13] A June thread had already reported no effect at all from the HCl, and in r/Tianeptine a buyer wrote of the tianeptine sodium that "it did absolutely nothing".[15][16]

The label, read by buyers. A first-time buyer in August was alarmed: "i see on the label it says not made for human consumption".[17] The replies explained that every phenibut seller says it. In October a Canadian reported a package resealed with "there was clear tape marked with sante canada around the envelop", and the bottle's seal missing.[18]

A harm-reduction note. Phenibut can take three to six hours to act. In October several new buyers posted that they had felt nothing from four capsules and taken more: "took 4 caps no results took 8 more 4 hours later".[19] Taking more before the first dose has arrived is the usual way to take too much of a slow drug.

Lab results

The store promises tests: "every batch is independently tested by accredited labs for identity purity and concentration", and "we partner with iso certified and cgmp compliant labs".[20] Each product page carries a "Lab Results" panel. We did not find a certificate we could read, so we cannot say which laboratory tests the products or what it found. This site's lab-results section holds no test of a Nordic Chems product.

Regulatory and legal

Tianeptine. FDA says "tianeptine a drug is not approved by the u s food and drug administration for any medical use", that "the fda is aware that tianeptine has been sold online in pill liquid and powder forms", and that poison-centre cases rose nationally "from 4 cases in 2013 to about 350 cases in 2024".[21] The store does not mention any of this.

States. The tianeptine page says "due to regulations on tianeptine we can not sell to buyers in the following states" and lists fourteen, ending "ohio florida virginia louisiana".[7] The phenibut page lists two: "due to regulations on phenibut we can not sell to buyers in the following states alabama utah".[8] Louisiana is on the tianeptine list. It is also the state of the only address the store gives.[3]

Who may buy. The terms require that "the user is at least eighteen 18 years old".[4] We found no age check on the store. The FAQ says a buyer suspected of using a product outside research will be refused: "we will add you to our no sell list".[5] It accepts cards and, the FAQ says, payment "or with cryptocurrency such as bitcoin or ethereum".[5]

We found no FDA warning letter naming Nordic Chems or NordicChem LLC.[21]

Still open

• Who owns NordicChem LLC, and what is at the Lafayette address. Searched: the store's pages, the Icelandic registry, the web. The terms name the company and no person.
• What the certificates say. Searched: the archived product, collection and policy pages. No certificate found.
• What changed in the phenibut from August 2026. Searched: r/phenibut. Buyer reports only.
